I finally did it.
I opened my can of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.
Keep in mind that I am so not a painter.
I am a sewer and a gardener but a painter I am not.
So I started small.
I painted this tray that has lived on my coffee table for years.
I really wanted to paint the coffee table but I held myself back…
I had to improvise when it came to finding something to prop up the tray.
I hate it when you paint something on newspaper
and the newspaper ends up sticking to your project.
Too messy for me…
so I used this Pyrex dish with a rubber hot pad on top.
Here’s my tray after 3 coats.
It still wasn’t perfectly covered.
But I went with it and started distressing.
Then I waxed with Minwax natural.
I didn’t enjoy the waxing part but it dried in no time.
I buffed it up and here she is…
For someone who really doesn’t paint…
I thought it turned out pretty good.
So…what do ya think?
Should I paint the coffee table next?
