Changes

I have been working on a new project for a few weeks
and finally feel organized enough to share it with you.

I am updating my living and dining rooms...
on a very small budget.
Lots of DIY projects and
re-inventing what I already have.

From the very beginning of her career,
I have loved Sarah Richardson.
I feel like she grew up right in my TV.
From her Room Service days to the latest Sarah 101,
I have never seen anything of hers that I didn't want for my own.

Here are a few of my very favorite Sarah rooms...

I have seen her put together a room dozens of times.
She usually starts with fabric.
So that's what I did.
Here's what I came up with...

I still love red but I'm ready to phase it out.
My color palette started in my kitchen.
Blues, yellows and creams.
Believe it or not, all of the fabrics above (with the exception
of the cheetah print) are under $10.00 per yard.
I found some wonderful 100% linen on eBay for $7.25 per yard
that I'm using for the window treatments. It's a beautiful cream color.
I have already painted over my yellow walls with a creamy white.
And I have a surprise for my IKEA pieces that I'll share later.

Now...
isn't this fun?
I hope to splurge on 2 of these beauties from Target.
I was shocked at the fun fabrics available on these slipper chairs.
Tons to choose from. This is a Duralee Thomas Paul print.
Pretty cool for Tarjay!

Every time I get stuck on something
I look at google images of Sarah's rooms.
Incredible inspiration.
She's helped me make most of my decisions and choices.
Of course I don't have the budget she usually works with.
But I'm a firm believer that you can get what you want,
for the right price.
It just takes a little more time and effort.

I'll keep you updated...
thanks for stopping by.

Your fabric choices look fabulous. I love Sarah Richardson. I watched a recorded Sarah 101 this morning where she redid a kitchen on a budget. Love those chairs from Target, too!

Ah yes, Sarah is the greatest. I love everything she does. Redecorating on a budget is a challenge, but it can be fun. I love those Target chairs. Looking forward to following your redo.

I know who Sarah Richardson is (I think she's Canadian eh?) but I don't get HGTV or any of those great decorating shows (that's why I blog). I love the colour palette you've chosen and can't wait to see your changes. I am also changing out the yellow walls for something creamier sometime this fall hopefully. I love the chairs you've chosen. Can't wait to see! Pamela

My favorite home she has done so far is the Farmhouse. I LOVE that one.

I love those target chairs...they would look great in my bedroom! hmmmm now where to find the money...lol

About my painted floor...I did that 12 years ago when I was much younger! So my knees did ok...

So far, I like your fabric choices and I think the room will look more put together without everything new anyway. The things you re-purpose will feel homier. Can't wait to see the final outcome:)

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. I had my DIL order that chair in a different fabric for their master and you won't be disappointed. I still can not believe what a striking chair for so cheap. Great starting point, xo Kathysue
