A few weeks ago I showed you my TV's new home.
I also showed you that there was a slight problem.
You can read about it
here.
After I put the DVR component in the cupboard
the door wouldn't close.
A few of you advised me to just cut holes in the back of the cabinet.
Never let it be said that I don't listen.
That's exactly what I did.
Now it fits perfectly.
It's not pretty, but it works.
Now my door closes and all is right with my world.
Here's a little closer look at the newly styled shelves.
I had to eliminate a shelf to accommodate the TV.
This candlestick is part of a set that belonged to my mother-in-law.
I know tarnished silver is in vogue now...
but I still polish mine.
I can't help myself.
Moving on.
Visiting Jami's shop was such fun...
and a little dangerous because I loved everything.
All her tags are hand-stamped.
Hang them on knobs, pitcher handles,
and lamps like I did here.
This is 2 tags layered on one string.
This little nest is a custom order.
You can pick how many eggs and what initial you want.
It looks like it spells "EAST."
But it's really the first initial of everyone in my family.
I'm a sucker for her little nests.
Visit Jami's
Etsy shop or her blog, also named
Freckled Laundry.
You will love it I'm sure...
PLEASE join me for Open House Party Thursday.
I'm guest hosting while Sherry is away...
The link will be up by 7 p.m. EST on Wednesday night.
Thanks for stopping by...

Happy weekend! Your cabinet looks nice as does your shelves.
How great you solved your problem. It looks so nice now and those little tags are adorable too.
Have a beautiful Sunday and be a sweetie,
shelia ;)
The holes work perfectly. I like your tv in that spot so I am glad you found a solution. The tags look cute too!
Perfecto solution Ann. I knew you would come up with something. Love the little nests too.
I'm so glad the holes in the back of the cabinet worked out for you, Ann. What's that expression - where there's a will, there's a way? I confess that I really like the look of polished silver, too; I like shiny things! Adorable nests!
Looks like a great solution to the DVD player problem!! You'd never know. ;) I am a silver addict... some of the time mine is polished... then they go to tarnished again. Until the next polishing frenzy. LOL! blessings ~ tanna
ms. A. It is sometimes so simple how we can solve our seemly big problems. looks great. Richard at My Old Historic House.
The difference between good and great can sometimes just be the willingness to follow direction. Your TV looks perfect there!
Love the bookshelves and the cabinet is perfect. A couple of holes never hurt anything. Hugs, Marty
It turned out great. I love the little nest tags. I will have to check them out. Happy Sunday.
I would have suggested drilling holes if I'd known they weren't already there. :-) I all looks great. I like the little nests. Cute!
Looks great. I love bird nests also. If I find a real one, I usually give it to a teacher friend who will keep it for her classroom. So many children in today's world never get to see a real bird's nest.

Finding a nest for a tv is always a challenge but you did it. The bird nests are sweet too.
Love the tags - and what a perfect solution. No one will know those holes are there except you!!
Yay, you got the DVR to fit. Don't you love it when you finally get things to work out right? Your silver candlestick is so classic and I love it polished. I'm a polisher too. The little nest is darling and I love it that you have the initials of each one in your family.
Hugs,
Babs
Looks great now, Ann!
I love the little nests too.
:)
Love those nests!! So glad you found a solution to the PVR dilemma. You certainly could not live without the PVR, lol. I know I couldn't. :)
The shelves are styled perfect. Love the nest tags. I wonder how many holes have been cut to hide cords?
Your cupboard looks really beautiful now, Ann.
Hi Ann. I'm catching up on my blog reading and I can see you have been a busy girl this summer - hosting blog parties and decorating your nest. Great solution to the door not closing on the cupboard - that would totally annoy me too!
Practical and pretty. EAST or SEAT...ours spell JERK.
I polish my silver too...maybe a little too much!...It's therapy to me. I love the shape of your candlestick. Thank you so much for featuring my tags. It was fun making them for you. I love the little nest hanging from a knob like that. Very cute. I am so sorry for not seeing this post sooner but I appreciate all of the sweet things you wrote all the same. So very thoughtful you are!
Thank you!
Jami
