Summer's End

For most of you there are a few more weeks of summer.
For me though,
it's come to an end.

As a school secretary, I've had a few weeks off for summer break.

I had a list of things I wanted to do.
Most of it is checked off...
of course there's a few things I didn't get to.

Such is life.

I am returning to school today to open up
and begin a new year.
New school year = New beginning.
Everyone starts with a clean slate.

I've enjoyed having time to post almost every day...
but I'll be going back to my normal 3 or 4 times a week.

I read in this issue of Easy Decorating magazine
that if you Google "Home Design Blog" (which I'm not really)
over a million results come up.

With all those great blogs out there
I am honored that you are visiting mine.

I'll be around...
just not as often.

Thanks for stopping by...

Enjoy your first week back Ann. I would love your job. I have always wanted to work in the school system that way I would have the same schedule as my boys. Instead, I volunteer my time, which is a great thing too for the teachers.

Back to work for you, hm? Well, your photos are gorgeous. Love that sunflower perched in your garden. I have that same two-colored zinnia. But most of mine are affected by the heat right now. I'll always be here to read your blog, despite the hordes of others!

Hi Ann, I'm sorry to hear your summer vacation has come to an end. I'll miss seeing you here as much as you have been. But, life and work goes on. I hope it is a wonderful school year and I'm sure being the secretary there is so much to do before the students return. Your flowers are beautiful and I love that large sunflower stake! Have a wonderful week. Blessings, Pamela

My first job was a school secretary! I did it for 3 years and then moved on to other things.
Enjoy your first week back.

Well, Ann, it's not about the number of posts, it's about what there is to read, look at and ponder on. Your posts fit the bill.

I, too, am so sad to see summer come to an end - I don't head back until August 29th though. On the upside, I love the start of a new school year - always such promise and as you said, a clean slate. Good luck this school year! I don't know when your teacher's convention is, but mine is in October, so I always look forward to that first 4 day weekend! Hugs!

This summer has been tough. It has been so hot it is hard to even walk the dog. My yard and house repairs have suffered. Maybe we will get a nice long fall. Richard at My Old Historic House.

Wow, your flowers have done so well. Our back yard looks like a barren slope now. We need rain so badly. We do have a watering system for our new shrubs and trees that we had to replace twice after a year. Poor landscape guy! We paid for the first replacement, but he paid for the second. I am just hoping that we start getting cooler weather soon.

Ann, Your garden is looking beautiful. Great photos and so much excitement with the new school year starting. I read your comment about new beginnings and everyone starting with a clean slate. I had to smile because I'm actually old enough to know what a slate is, but not old enough to have used one in school. :)
Hugs and have a great day and a wonderful school year.

I've been thinking about you having to start back to school so early. Your teachers must start earlier than ours, or you are on a strict 10 or 11 month calendar. As I mentioned to you, I'm a retired teacher, so I know how fast summers go when school is waiting for you in the fall. But it's also such an exciting time of new beginnings. Have a great school year.
