Kitchen in Autumn

Here we are well into the Autumn season...
we've had beautiful, warm days
and chilly nights.
My kind of weather.

I have been waiting to add some fall touches
to my kitchen...I was looking and looking for white pumpkins.
Finally found them today.

I also went to Walmart
and bought myself a tripod.

I used it on these pics of my kitchen.
It was remarkably easier than holding the camera.
Quicker and much more comfortable.
I never felt quite right taking pictures.
Always a little unsure.

I'm still a little unsure,
but the tripod really helped.

Twine, some Crate and Barrel leaves
and my white pumpkin.
Love it.

In addition to pumpkins, of course,
Indian corn to me says Autumn.

The pie pumpkins are just for show.
I've never used one to actually make a pie.
Have you?
The canned stuff works fine in my opinion...

This run of countertop is often cluttered
with mail, dog leashes, cell phones, etc.
Amazing what a little cleaning up can do.

My Staub pot.
Makes the BEST soup.

Here's the tripod that I got.
Under $30 at Walmart.
Sturdy yet very light.

And finally,
this is another one of my eBay wins.
They are pretty ugly right now.
But just wait.

Soon they will look like Penny's.
Aren't they beautiful?
She shared how she transformed them.
More on that to come.

I know that Autumn is just the pre-game show for winter.
I'm trying to enjoy it while it's here.

You do the same.

Love all the Fall touches. I think that I need to get a tripod. I have some shakiness due to some meds, so that would help. Never used a real pumpkin for a pie, but I remember my mother using our Jack O Lanterns back in the 50's.

I really am envious of your kitchen cabinets. I'm beginning to feel that my cabinets are not serving me well. I need to re-organize and pitch and make them more accommodating. Thanks for an enjoyable read.

You have a beautiful kitchen. No I would use the cute little pumpkins either...I love the Libby Pumpkin Pie Filling...use it every year!

I am so glad you are enjoying your camera. The kitchen looks lovely!

I have made pie from pumpkins, but it was entirely too much work for me, I used the can pumpkin, not the pie mix.

Oh yes, the pre game show. I am not looking fwd to the game!

Come visit when you have time!

Hi Ann...

Your autumn kitchen is beautiful, my friend! Thank you for sharing it with us. I love the little gourds you got from ebay. I clicked on Penny's link...was wondering if she did something to hers to get the copper color? They really are beautiful!

Ann, I think your photos always look stunning! You know, I purchased the same tripod from Walmart. I seem to be just the opposite...I feel more comfortable holding my camera than using the tripod. Well dear lady, hope you're having a wonderful weekend!

Warmest autumn wishes,
Chari

Love your little touches of fall that you put in your kitchen. I need to get a tripod too. The new camera seems to be working well.

Ann, your kitchen and all the fall touches look great. I use my tripod all the time in the house. That way you can set the iso on 100 and take very clear pics. The lower the iso the more blurred the shots will be if you hold it so you have to use a tripod. Have fun practicing with that new camera.

Your kitchen looks so pretty with all the fall additions. Your pictures look great too. I think you're getting the hang of the new camera just fine.

Your kitchen is very pretty. Glad to hear you got a tripod. You must have a good camera then. I'm sure it helps to position your camera for the perfect shot.

Ann, I agree with the others, your kitchen is very pretty(and sparkling clean) I might add. The large window is so nice to have in the kitchen. You probably almost feel as if you're outside. Your touches of fall are subtle but very effective. We used to grow a few pumpkins for pies. The ones you cook have a very fresh taste and make wonderful pies but it is way to much work for most of us these days. The canned Libby pumpkin is a great convenience and is a very good substitute for the fresh ones. Wouldn't mind having a slice right now. Loved seeing your beautiful kitchen.-------Shannon

Your home is Beautiful! and your pictures are amazing, I think I need more than a tripod to get shots like that. But maybe it would help, some... Visiting from Donna's Funky Junk's party, if you have a minute hop over for a visit!

I love your fall touches to the kitchen; so pretty. I have never used a real pumpkin for pie either; just sounds like too much work to me! :)

I would love to know how you finish your gourds, I have a few of them and they look like the ones you have. I love the look of Penny's!

I am thinking I may have to get a tripod too. I think it would make life easier and at that price!! :)

take care!

O, and the Google images...too many are copyrighted and there's no way to really know. Free clip art is a much safer and better way to go...then you don't have to worry about the copyright thing.

What a pretty kitchen...I love all of the details, the mosiac above the stove and the plate racks...so charming. A great idea how you tied the leaves around the pumkins with the twine, adds something special. And your new gourds are sensational, makes me want to plant some for next year!

So pretty and one thing that really caught my eye was your "Liberty Blue" platter. It has taken me years, but I have finally collected enough of them for both daughters and myself to have a 12 piece setting...
Now I am shopping for the extra pieces..
You have a wonderful blog!

Hi Ann,
I don't think I have ever seen your kitchen, it is very lovely. Your island is so pretty and I adore the tiled counter tops.
I haven't seen white pumpkins, so I have not gotten any yet, one day hopefully. Your autumn decor is gorgeous!!! I love it.
Have a lovely day.

Hi Ann, your kitchen is looking lovely with all of your autumn touches. The blue and white looks so pretty with the little pops of orange. And I'm thinking of getting a tripod. I usually end up taking 20 pictures of the same thing and I usually get one that is clear. Can't wait to see what you do with those gourds. I have 2 hanging around from last year and still haven't done anything with them.

These are great photos, Ann! I really have to try using a tripod- I`ve got the shakiest finger in the west! I love the way you`ve tied twine and fall leaves around the corn and pumpkin- just that extra little touch makes them extra special. BTW, I wouldn`t be able to make pumpkin pie filling from an actual pumpkin if my life depended on it!! I feel pretty good about the canned stuff as well;!

Ann, these images are very good with the tripod. My tripod lives in the closet and when the sun comes out and it stops raining I have promised myself I will use it. The pumpkins are darling. Do you know we live next to a gourd farm and I never buy any? I am awful I know it. I love your black and whit kitchen-so classic. hugs♥Olive

I seem to be going over-board this year with Fall/Halloween decorations because it will be our first time with our kiddoes and kidlets close by -- well, that's my story and I'm stickin' with it! I do truly appreciate the less cluttered & more "sophisticated" Fall looks like yours and several others I've observed in blogland. I really do like the white pumpkins, but haven't had time to pull out the white paint to use on my orange ones. That may or may not happen! I love the little pie pumpkins & how you've tucked them among your lovely white dishes. It all looks very pretty.
