Mail

The past few weeks have been exciting for my little dog...when the mailman comes she goes absolutely wild and barks like it's Jack the Ripper. I have kept my mailman pretty busy.

I got these boxes from Comfort Works. They are new slipcovers for my IKEA furniture. I already showed you my chair and ottoman. Sofa to come soon along with a surprise from Comfort Works for my readers. It's pretty awesome so make sure to stay tuned!

I'm also buying vintage fabric for my Etsy shop.  I'm breaking even so far...not making any money
but I'm not losing any either. It takes time. This ticking came from a lovely Etsy shop owner named Ginger.

I also stalk eBay for vintage fabric finds. The next two are auction wins. These are referred to as "toweling." You'll be relieved to know I'm not making towels...I'm making table runners.

The color of this one is exactly like coffee with cream.
Yum.

I'm really excited about this next piece. It's long and in perfect condition which is sometimes hard to come by when you work with vintage fabrics. One of the things I have learned (the hard way) is to examine every piece carefully before cutting. Not too long ago I got a pillow cover completely put together only to find out there was a stain right on the front.  The thing that creeped me out was that the spot looked like it could have been blood. Needless to say I took the cover apart and started over.

This next parcel was possibly the most exciting. My friend Laurie from how my time flys is a talented artist.

I ordered the print from her Etsy shop. She sent that plus a signed original. When I opened the package I couldn't believe it at first. Her generosity was so touching and I am honored to have her work in my home.

Since I started my blog, I have tried to specifically thank all the lovely people who have helped me along the way.  I've received words of encouragement, features and a few wonderful giveaway wins to name just a few. If I have overlooked anyone please know it wasn't intentional. I appreciate every single one of you who support me and keep coming back to read my blog. Thank you.

Oh Ann..you had a very lucky day indeed. I love my special works of art by Laurie and you will enjoy looking at those beauties every day. Great fabrics too! You have always been very kind and considerate with your comments and time...I know you are a busy lady so it is hard to work full time and blog, I can only imagine.

Ann, I'm happy for you that things are going so well for you. You are a hard working and talented lady so good things should be happening for you. How nice to receive the rooster paintings in the mail. They are very nice and colorful. Holly and my 3 doxies go bonkers when the door bell rings. They howl like wolves when packages come.
Will be watching to see your next project.------Shannon

Good for you! My daughter and I are thinking about dipping into the Etsy world. Don't think I'll be having my beloved cream in my coffee in the morning. My brand new highly rated fridge already went out and my new groceries ruined... Have a pity party for me, for I do love my coffee routine and the repairman can't come look till tomorrow afternoon.

I love keeping up with Laurie. She is as talented as she is kind. Before she opened her etsy shop she sent me a painting simply because I said I loved it!!

I love getting packages, too. I shopped online quite a bit this week so the UPS man will be driving Milo crazy!!

Just found your blog through Marty at A Stroll Thru Life and I am now a new follower! Like you, I've been thrifting and recreating for twenty years before it was cool. It cracks me up that now it is trendy. I'm looking forward to following your blog and have favorited your Etsy shop.

Your coffee and cream fabric is gorgeous; just luscious. I've not had much experience with hunting for fabric on ebay and so far, I've gotten frustrated with it. After seeing your fabulous finds, I'm a renewed scavenger!

What a kind soul to send you the pictures. I love all your vintage fabric. It must be fun to work with the fabric and think of the others who have been in contact with it before you.
