The Petite Market

Not too long ago Miss Mustard Seed mentioned me on her blog. I had sent her several pieces (OK...more than several) that I sewed hoping she would like them enough to carry my line in her shop at Lucketts. After that I heard from several of her readers inquiring about things in my Etsy shop. I got a lovely comment from Etsy shop owner Jody from The Petite Market. She simply said that she liked my things and wished me luck. I thought it was so nice and I replied. We've been talking ever since.

During one of our conversations, Jody asked if I had any vintage, faded fabric in red. I didn't but said I would look around. She ended up ordering 2 grain sack pillow covers. She was nice enough to send these great photos of my pillow covers on her fantastic bench.

The little paisley pillow in the middle is from a faded old grain sack I purchased on Etsy.

Jody carries all sorts of vintage items in her shop. Here are just a few of her treasures.

I check out Jody's shop every few days. Recently she had this little gem listed and I jumped on it right away. Ever since I got my blue Ball jars last summer I have wanted one of these baskets. I think it's perfect.

I can hardly wait to fill it with evergreen and berries for Christmas.
Or maybe pine cones?

Etsy is gearing up for it's best and most successful Christmas ever. It's totally amazing what is being marketed by all sorts of talented people. Most shops are offering some sort of incentive. Free shipping, sales, etc. Take a look when you have time. I can pretty much guarantee you will find something you like.

Oh...Miss Mustard Seed hired me. I am now moonlighting, sewing away into the wee hours of the night. Some of my things are selling really well and some are not. I am so grateful that she gave me this chance to see what I could do. Time will tell. I'm almost ready to send her my second shipment. I'll share some of it in my next post.

Congratulations, Ann, on your success with the pillows. Marion knows a good thing when she sees it! Love that old pillow fabric in the center. I do believe that was from a chicken mash bag-as I kind of remember one in that pattern. Loveit! xo Diana

Congrats Anne! And Good Luck.
I just started on my Etsy shop a little while back. Indeed some things sell great others not at all. I have to try to find my right spot in it all.
Will you come over and visit me again when you have time in between moonlighting. (I know what it is like). I am doing it a lot myself.
Would love to hear your opinion of the cushions I made. (my latest post).
Thanks.

Till soon!

Wonderful news about signing on with Miss Mustard Seed. I have absolutely loved my experience of running an Etsy Shop. It's so rewarding.
Your items are so professional and beautifully made. Good luck!
You asked about the soda bottles. Those are just the 'Crush' sodas found at Walmart for about $3.00 per six pack (box included). You can find them near their bottled water. : )
Happy Thanksgiving,
Mary Lou
