Home for the Holidays ~ 2011 The Living Room

I think my favorite room
to decorate for Christmas is my living room.
Lots of shelves, tables and places to put things.
I have a gigantic window that takes up pretty much a whole wall.
Along the window is a ledge.
It's a great place to display seasonal
bits and pieces.

These cream lanterns move around.
Sometimes in the dining room or on the coffee table.
Here they are on the ledge.

On either side of the ledge are bookshelves.
They have had a million different looks over the years.
This year fresh greens, berries and pine cones dress them up.

This is the bookshelf on the other end.
Putting the TV here involved my usual drama
but it was so worth it.

Last year I bought a bunch of red balls
on clearance after Christmas.
They make fun vase fillers for hardly any money.
They don't need watered and they don't drop needles.

Still no Christmas tree.
But it's on my list for the weekend.
If anyone has some pull with the weather Gods
I could sure use a snow day next week!

I could use a snow day too! We are only expecting 1 cm tomorrow so I don't think that will happen. Love your bookcases and little vignettes. Although I have lots of vignettes for Christmas I always feel like I need more vertical spaces and little tables. Love that deep window.

I really like the lanterns and your sign...the greenery, too! Very elegant and pretty!

Every time I come to your blog I mean to ask you about the wall paint you used in your living room. Do you remember the shade and who makes it? It is the perfect cream color and I need to paint my living room this spring.

Hope you get your tree this weekend...I always get in the spirit once i have mine!

XO,
Jane
