For more years than I would like to admit,
I have collected plates.
I love dishes…especially plates and pitchers.
Plates are everywhere in my home…even the bathrooms.
(I’m sorry but I can’t show you my loos. Maybe someday…)
Here’s the entry plate rack.
This is how it looked until yesterday.
For my January look I went with simple blue and white.
(I guess I need something on that bottom shelf…)
I plan to remove this red wallpaper asap.
I’m thinking vertical blue and cream stripes might make the ceilings seem higher.
Not sure I’m up to all that taping though.
I have several pieces of I.Godinger creamware.
This plate is one of my favorites.
It’s inexpensive and readily available at TJMaxx and on eBay.
These ironstone platters were actually
my first ironstone purchase EVER.
I got them at a church tag sales years ago.
There are 6. I love them as much today as the day I brought them home.
I think the set of 6 was $3.00.
More blue and white in the dining room.
The top 2 and bottom 2 were purchased at my antique mall.
The middle ones are imports but I love the design.
I had 3 of these cabbage plates.
I broke one a few years ago and believe me I just about cried.
I still haven’t gotten over it.
This set of 6 dessert plates came from my in-laws.
The marking on the bottom says Made in France
but that’s all I know about them.
These 8 dinner plates were also at my in-laws.
They are burgundy with a raised gold design.
Love them.
Here are my Quimper knock-offs.
A good knock-off but a knock-off none the less.
Love them too.
More I.Godinger by the lamp.
Finally here is my plate rack in the kitchen.
I had it custom made after I bought my Liberty Blue dishes.
Several summers ago I sold my set of dishes from Pier 1
and bought this set a few pieces at a time.
It took the whole summer but it was so worth it.
I can’t imagine ever parting with it…
but never say never.
So there you have it.
My mis-matched and beloved plate collection.
Hope you enjoyed it.

Your home is also very lovely, so nice to catch glimpses of it.

They are all so beautiful, I can see why you have a love for plates, you have a great eye for their details. My favorite are the blue and white Liberty in the Kitchen. They seem so homey to me. Thanks for letting us look:)
Love your plate collection! I also have a love for blue and white. Thanks for sharing.
Plates have a way of coming home with me, especially hand pained ones with roses. HELP! Thanks for sharing, happy New year.Richard and Sissy Dog Kisses, from, My Old Historic House.

I must admit…I too am an addict!
Love your blue and white plates. I am always drawn to pink and limoge.
I like china, and I've always been a fan of blue and white.
I find plates, especially white, irresistable. You have a very pretty collection!
I love plates ~ I think I'm addicted. I have all kinds of mismatched plates and love to set a table with them ~ so interesting. Love your plate collection ~ Just lovely ;-)
I love decorating with plates too. They're so versatile. I really like your built in plate rack in the kitchen! I also like your white ironstone plates.
Very lovely collection, Ann! I love the iron stone especially, and the blue and white looks fabulous with your touches of yellow.
I love seeing pictures of your beautiful and elegant home! Keep the photos coming!
XO,
Jane
Hi, My name is Chris, and I'm a plate-a-holic… I love dishes and platters. I have a hard time passing up plates at thrift stores, auctions, and discount stores like TJ Maxx and HomeGoods. I store my platters on racks that hang on the wall, so that I can easily take them down and use them, which I do quite often. It's fun to see someone enjoy plates too. You have some very pretty ones :)
Oh I love that cabbage plate,..I might have cried too, and those burgundy plates with raised gold design are gorgeous. What a great collection, Ann.
Wonderful plate collection! I also love your tile work behind the sink. Smart thinking to have a plate rack added. I bet you really enjoy being able to look at your beautiful plates when working at the sink.

You know, I was just admiring that red wallpaper that you are thinking of removing. I understand that we get tired of something sometimes but I love that paper!!

Beautiful – from one plate addict to another! Blue and white will always be my favorite – my go-to – but I have also come to enjoy red and white transferware. It's an addiction, but it won't make me senseless or fat!
Hi Ann,
I love plates too and the way you have used yours makes me want to get all of mine out and start hanging them!
The dessert plates are majolica. My sister has a few of these and she just loves them.
Love the cabbage plates too. I've got a few and I need to get them out and show them off. Thanks for the inspiration.
hugs

Oh my goodness, no lie…
I just came home from my Mom's house less than an hour ago. We were cleaning out some of her dishes. She had this one stray plate, that I loved, so she told me to take it. I'm reading your post & thinking, the Liberty Blue plates look familiar. Sure enough, that's the plate my Mom gave me tonight! How funny.
Ok, just had to share that story.
Anyway, I love your plate collection! It's a beautiful collection, Ann.
You have a beautiful collection! My favs are the ironstone. I have a few pieces of ironstone that were my Mom's I love them, so simple, yet so pretty! But i do also love the blue in your kitchen, it looks perfect there!
Jodi
Ann I love plates too, yours are beautiful!
Debbie
Oh I have envy Ann!
I have 5 of the Liberty Blue plates and I love them! But I love all your other plates as well!

What a beautiful collection of plates, Ann! They are all so unique … I love how you've mixed them together, too!
I love your plate collection! I have a few hanging in my home.
I also loved your holiday picture!!
Your plate collection is wonderful! I'm a plate lover too and love to display them on walls. I used to have a collection on a wall in my bedroom until my daughter made so much fun of me for having dishes in the bedroom! lol Kids…gotta love 'em! Happy New Year to you and your family. Suzy
Ann, I'm an admitted lover of plates too. It's such fun to see yours and how you live with them. Cute idea to change out the plate rack at the front hall. I've at times done that with our Welsh dresser, but I've become lazy in recent years. Let's just say, it could be refreshed! ;-)
My sister collects the I. Godinger plates and has them grouped on a wall above her guest bed.
Love seeing your blue and white kitchen.
Happy New Year! ~ Sarah
Ann, I really,REALLY like the plate rack by the front door and all your pretty plates. I'm a lover of plates, too, but for whatever reason, I rarely display any, other than in the kitchen. You've inspired me to buy some more plate hangers and start hanging…and buy some more plates. :)
Thanks Ann and Happy New Year!
Love love LOVE your plates, Ann!
My dogs recently broke a couple vintage glass pieces of mine and I could still cry about it too! They were sentimental to me, so I can understand your sadness for your missing cabbage plate!
Those sweet lacy edges ones might have to be added to my list…. I really like those, and I adore all your blue and white ones…. they remind me of my mom and grandmother's collections. So fantastic!
Thanks for linking up, Ann! I truly appreciate it!

I also display plates and teacups too. Love your collection and your knack for display!
You have some very pretty plates and I love the plate rack. Are you sure that you want to remove that wallpaper? I really like it and I have heard more than once that wallpaper is making a come back.
Hugs,
Susan and Bentley
What a great and beautiful plate collection, I specially love your Libert transfer plates. I love wallpaper, I'd love to have it some where, it's coming back even the very modern minimalist kind. Happy New Year.

I love plates, too. They are beautiful, yet functional as well. I have a lot of flow blue plates that I should probably display, but haven't ever had the right spot.
That cabbage plate IS a real beauty!

I share your love of pretty plates. My husband jokes that soon we won't have anything to eat off of. He's not far off. I absolutely love your collection!
I love all your plates, but I especially love your plate rack with your Liberty Blue in the kitchen. Everything in your kitchen looks so wonderful with your dark blue cabinetry.
You really have a wonderful collection of plates, Ann! They are all so pretty!
