Dining Room 2012 ~ Part 2

I guess I'm a little out of practice
when it comes to putting together a room update post.
I forgot to show you before pictures of the dining room.
I also didn't shoot any close-ups.
Not sure where my head was...

Anyway, here's a few before and afters.

Before...lots going on.
Yellow paint beneath the chair rail.

After...a bit more restrained.
Lightened the inside of the corner cabinets
and painted below the chair rail.

Before.

After.

The other side of the room.
Yellow paint again.

After. Not much difference except for the paint.

Before.

After.

Here's a close up of the yellow striped grain sack.
They are pretty rare but every once
in a while you can find one.
Lavender is also rare...I saw a couple before Christmas
and didn't buy them.
Big mistake!

I found this little yellow bird last spring at a gift shop.
Reminds me of the little bird on my blog logo.

I want to send a huge thank you out to
Terry at These Peas Taste Funny.
She helped me today with my camera settings.
I published this picture of my dining room in the first post.

It was pretty dark to start out...and the editing
just made it look grainy.
Here are the ones I took today...
with the correct camera settings.

I still have so much to learn.

It looks beautiful, Ann. I really like the change-it is lighter and brighter and I like the blue plates against the wall.

Great picture. Amazing what a difference it makes using different settings on a camera. Something I have yet to learn. xo Diana

Your dining room looks so much lighter with the yellow gone from below the chair rail. Do share what you had the camera set on in the new improved pics.

Your dining room is charming and beautiful - pat your self on the back for a beautiful spiffing up, and don't sweat the small stuff. (: LOVE the yellow birdy!

Changing the chairrail colour and the inside of the china cabinet sure made a huge difference in your dining room! It looks so light and fresh now. Pamela x

Love the lighter, brighter look! What changes did you make to the camera settings?

It's amazing the difference that painting the inside of the cabinet made, and your wallpaper looks even prettier now with the white below the chair rail!

Do share the camera settings...how did you do that!?!

What a difference the paint has made in your room. I like the changes you made with accessories as well. I'm surprised at the difference with the camera settings. I don't know anything about that stuff either.

I love the "more restrained" look! The little bird!! LOVE it! Didn't notice him in the last post. And, I think I need to go get help with my camera settings like that. Wow. What a difference. Isn't it fun to still be learning new things? Have a great day. blessings ~ tanna

The room looked lovely before, but it is nicer now. I am always afraid to paint nice furniture, but I love how the lighter inside of your cabinet turned out. Beautiful!

I really like the white paint below the chair rail which is funny because I thought I like the yellow beforehand. The white is REALLY nice though. I also love the lightened up look you got by painting the inside of the cabinet. Such a small change with huge impact. Everything looks great!! (nice pics, lol)

The china hutch really looks good with the back painted. It stood out quickly to my eyes! I love those tall skinny lamps too. I like your new way the pictures are laid out also and your fabrics are wonderful! That's a great runner you found!
