Sharing Sunday ~ Sharing

Happy Sunday everyone. I'm here today to tell you about a couple of new series ideas I hope to start soon. They directly deal with my newest obsession (vintage fabrics) and my favorite decorating tool (the pillow.) I have been soaking up any and all information I can find on either subject. I hope to share what I have learned and how I put that knowledge to good use.

I have to admit that at first I wasn't sure about sharing my hard-earned knowledge. What if I shared myself right out of business? Almost the very next second I realized how silly that was. Here is my thought process. (Stay with me...I know my thoughts are somewhat jumbled at times.)

First of all, if you are a sewer, you won't be buying my items anyway. You will simply sew what you need yourself. The whole idea of blogging is to provide inspiration and information.  I would love to be able to do that for someone, who like me, enjoys sitting at a sewing machine. Kindred spirits so to speak...

For those of you who
don't sew
or don't like to sew
or don't have time to sew
I'm sharing what I've learned because I think it's interesting.
Call me crazy but I think you will agree.

My friends Jane and Leo are hosting a killer giveaway.
Click here to join the fun.

Oh...and don't forget.
Downton Abbey.
Tonight.
9 p.m. EST.
PBS.

Hoping you all have a terrific week.
Keep the Faith.

Ann,
Thanks for linking our giveaway in your post! I look forward to your posts on vintage fabrics. I don't know much about them other than I love them, and I can't wait to see what you do with them. I don't have a sewing machine, but give me a needle, and I'm in business! I once made 2 crib size quilts all by hand.

What a wonderful, generous idea! I am a firm believer in giving...you get so much more back than you would ever believe! And I am not talking material things :-)
Hugs,
Penny

So true! Not being a sewer, I'll love seeing how you do things but I win't drag out my dreaded machine. I don't think I can afford what I would need to put in the swear jar :-).

Ready for my episode tonight! What will happen next?

Good morning Ann,

First, you truly are an inspiration to me.
Second, can't wait to watch Downton Abbey! I have it taping on my DVR so that I can watch it this week while the kids are in school. I'm so excited that it is back. I was in Barnes and Noble recently and they had the Downton Abbey book from the show. It was a beautiful book with stories and beautiful photos.

I look forward to your new projects. Bring'em on!!

Jessica

I love crafters who share ideas and, ultimately, themselves! You're a good soul, Ann. I love your pillows AND your fabrics. How perfectly beautiful! I can't wait to see what you come up with.

And, now, I have to say I don't know what Downtown Abby is but you have piqued my interest and I will be checking PBS out tonight- xo Diana

I am so excited to see your vintage tablerunner that you have made for me and my pillow!

That would be interesting to look at because I don't sew. I would like to learn one day. Maybe you'll motivate me!

One of my biggest regrets in life is that I don't sew. I always think I might learn one day, so of course, I'm interested in whatever you would like to share on the subject.

Your pillows are beautiful and your work is amazing, Ann.

I can't wait for Downton Abbey!

ANNE how generous. Your designs are so beautiful. I love vintage linen as well but I would not pay the price. I sew, actually I quilt more.
Thanks for the inspiration.

Your pillows are all gorgeous and I love vintage fabric. I only wish I could buy them, but because I sew, I cannot justify that and besides pillows are so much fun to make. Right?
Have a wonderful day, my friend.
Hugs, Cindy

You know I don't sew. I really enjoy looking at all of your handiwork. And it will be interesting to read your tips!

Thanks for sharing your knowledge. You have the perfect finish to all of your pillows! I am a sewer.....so I can't wait! BTW....I wanted to invite you to stop by my blog. We are having an "impossibility" challenge for 2012!

First off, I've been hearing all about Downtown Abbey and now I know I MUST check it out for myself:)
As far as sharing knowledge goes, I feel the same as you do...a lot of DIYers/sewers will not be purchasing from my shop anyway, so I do share tutorials often-it's a great way to build a community around your blog! xo

Wanted to say hi.

I noticed in Pottery Barn some pillows that are very similar to your great designs.

Hi Ann,
Your vintage fabric choices are always beautiful...I would love to be a kindred spirit as I enjoy sitting behind a sewing machine making pretty things from fabric & all that it entails. And to be honest I do have a thing for pillows, I don't think one can have enough...they are just so comforting!
All the Best,
Chrisitine
