This next sofa may have one too many pillows
but I loved the blue and white so I wanted to share it.
After the first installment of this series,
Scale, Texture & Pattern,
there were a few comments asking what to do with
pillows when you are entertaining.
One commenter said she actually removed all of her
pillows the last time she had people over…
but her room looked bare and plain.
A good solution would be to have baskets in the
room to hold the pillows when they are in the way.
You won’t lose your color and texture,
and there’s a place for everyone to sit.
Here is my family room.
This room is all about the TV and we sit on the sofa.
All the time.
I put baskets on the hearth to hold the pillows
so they don’t end up on the floor.
Here is the room in photo shoot mode.
This isn’t really what it looks like in real life.
All of these guidelines are just my own opinions.
Take them or leave them.
At the end of the day
whatever you do in your own home
needs to make you happy.
If you love a sofa full of pillows…
and you smile every time you walk in that room,
by all means go for it.
If you are a less is more sort of person,
let your furniture reflect that as well.
