Hi everyone...
I'm pretty much finished with my little Living Room re-do.
It has taken for-ev-er.
I'm going to start by showing you this wall that's seen from the entry.
I'm not going to lie...this wall has been a challenge.
It looked stark and sort of cold.
I kept trying to give it a warmer look.
I covered the stools under the table.
I hung more artwork.
Added more to the table top.
The rooster painting was a gift from my friend Laurie.
I ordered a print for a friend
and Laurie sent this original for me.
I have no words to express how much I love it.
My bargain IKEA stools.
The new fabric has dressed them up and added color.
I used this same fabric to cover the seats in my dining room.
I like to repeat an element or two
in connecting rooms. I think it just makes sense.
I got the vintage wooden drawer
from my friend (and sponsor) Jody at
the petite market.
I wasn't quite sure what I was going to do with it...
but I channeled my inner Miss Mustard Seed
and came up with this.
I love it.
Now...I need some advice.
I get the daily deal emails from
WUSLU and Antique Farm House.
These tiered wire baskets were an impulse buy.
A good impulse for sure...I think it's wonderful.
My problem is I don't know what to put in it.
If I were using it in the kitchen I would have no problem.
But I want to use it here.
Any ideas?
I've got a couple of pillow covers to make
and then I'll be back with the other side of the room.
I'll be moving to Wordpress
in the next few months.
My GFC gadget won't be moving with me.
I think Linky Followers is a good replacement.
I'd love it if you would check out the gadget on my sidebar.
I promise it only takes a minute.
I'm so glad it's the weekend.
Have a good one...

Hi Ann!
Living rooms looks great!! What about some moss covered spheres? maybe in one of the tiers? That's my 2 cents, enjoy your weekend in your beautiful living room!!
i love the room. my favorite is the color palate. so peaceful & clean. what a great place to enjoy & cuddle up with a good book. i'm following you on the new linky follower would you please follow me as well. (:
Ann:
Love your changes! I would add the spheres, I have the wicker type ones. I have seen them at Pier One Imports. I am following you now on Linky, could you also please follow me?
Thanks Ann! I will be doing a post of your grainsack table runner and pillow hopefully soon!
It's gorgeous! Love the mix of traditional furniture, mod fabrics, and farmhouse accessories! I have the same thing going on in my home and it really works!
Ann, your living room looks so pretty. I love the fabric you chose for the stools and pillows. The sun mirror looks great too. I followed you on linky and I am on linky too so I hope you follow me back. What about shells/starfish in the wire basket for summer? Have a great weekend. Pamela
Such a beautiful room. I love the artwork and your new tiered basket is fabulous. How about magazines on the bottom and then some spools or spheres in the other two. Just fill it with fun stuff, it will look fabulous. Hugs, Marty
I immediately thought of spheres...but I would only do that on the top...I think I would switch it up....maybe some plants in the middle...and books?? whatever...it is a gorgeous piece!
Your living room looks great. Love the covered stools and really love the style of the floor lamp. How nice to get that rooster picture. You can add driftwood, old books, old glass bottles, moss balls or other orbs. That is a few ideas.
Wow, you are moving to Word Press. I fear change like that. I joined linky.
Your living room looks really great. I love those pieces you recovered in such a bright, cheery fabric.
For some reason the first thing I thought of was wonderful balls of yarn in lovely colors. I like the idea or moss orbs, too.
Happy Weekend- we are doing Disney- xo Diana
Hi Ann, everything looks so fresh and clean, love the lamp and starburst mirror! Wonderful job on the stools love the fabric! I was at Hobby Lobby tonight and they had some spheres, I wish I would have got them now but there was so much to look at being as it was my first time there, they are finally moving their stores up north it seems, some had black on them and that would tie into the black lamp you have. I'd take my time and look around:)
Your living room looks so nice, Ann. I love the rooster painting. I think anything that you love would nice in the baskets.
Hey Ann...love your basket. I like the idea of some old books, mags, and make it useful for every day living. Remotes too. Word press is great from what I hear. I fear change and sticking to what I know for now. Actually, I love change, just not in that transition. I do the linky thing now too.
IT all came together really well - love the blue and yellows against that white. As for the tiered baskets (love them, by the way) I think I would put a trailing plant near the top (an ivy maybe) and stand some books on the lower baskets. Not sure though - would have to play with it.
Thanks for entering my giveaway for the pillows - good luck!
I have a smaller 3 tiered basket and I'm stumped too, but I'm thinking something with moss. I'm really lovin' your wall and furniture, that sunburst mirror is wonderful!!
The room is just lovely. Those yellow and blue pillows remind me of Monet.
Is there some way the baskets could relate to the chair? If it's where you do needlework it could hold little projects. It might be sweet filled with balls of yarn in colours to highlight what's already there. The room is certainly very pretty (always an important factor to me!), fresh and comfortable looking!
I'll go and follow you on Linky!
Your living room looks SO soothing! I love the blue highlights. And I love the white plates in your drawer. I'm a sucker for white! As for the three tiered basket, my ideas combine a little from several peoples'. I would put some books in it, if that's a place you like to read, and perhaps some yard in another, again, if that's where you light to knit. And, because I have such a sweet tooth, I would put a couple of pretty candy dishes in one, especially if you could find one of those, or I should say, two of those, candy dishes, that, together, form a circle. You could join them together around the handle.
Wow, did I talk your ear off with that one. Sorry!
Love how it turned out ....gorgeous especially the colors! The benches are perfect and your inner Miss MS right on! I like the ideas of the moss balls for the tier I don't think you need to fill each one though.....you have an amazing eye so whatever you do will be awesome!
Hi Ann,
Your room looks so pretty. Love the colors and the wall arrangement. I really like the rooster picture too. It's perfect.
I would probably add some vintage bottles on the bottom and a few little sachet pillows, a birds nest and maybe some little teacups.
hugs
Sissie
Love the fabric you used and the drawer is just adorable! I like everyones ideas of putting things you use in the tiered basket. Of course greenery would always be beautiful too.
Oh My! The table and everything on it is just the thing. I love your drawer and contents. Everything looks so bright and fresh.
The living room is beautiful. I love how soft the colors are and how you accessorized! I would put moss balls or twine balls or something like that in the basket. Great job@
Oh wow Ann. Your living room is so gorgeous. This looks like a magazine. I can't believe you actually live in this room, it's so perfect. I have no ideas for your wire baskets but can't wait to see what others suggest.
wow what a room ,beautiful. That rooster looks great, I'm so glad you like it.
Already a happy follower there :0). I've been kicking myself for not getting those baskets. I was thinking a couple of magazines on the bottom, my knitting in the middle and getting the husband to cut some wood to fit the top for my tea cup or wine glass.
LOVE what you did with your vintage drawer, Ann!! And, I would love to have that tiered wire basket for yarn!! LOL! Did you say you found it at Antique Farm House? LOVE it, too. You have done a great job with your LR! blessings ~ tanna
Ann your redo is fabulous! Love your colors and the pattern on your pillows and stools. I love it all. My thought is maybe magazines, pretty books, and maybe a plant? Hope you have fun playing with it and coming up with the right things. I am following you on Linky!
Ann your living room looks so pretty! Love the white and blue.
Your room looks lovely Ann. Loved what you did with the stools.
I love the vingette on the table and the the three tier basket is great I love it.

Looks great, Ann. You did a wonderful job.
A collection of various small ironstone creamers in the wire baskets might work. The stools look terrific and the roo is a lovely gift. Very well put together. xoxo, olive
Love your new look, the rooster pic is a stunning piece. I think I would fill the 3 tiered piece with things that interest you and bring some pops of color, maybe red or a vintage green. You could put bright fabric or a knitting project in one. Magazines, or even more of the blue canning jars. Can't wait to see what you come up with:)
Ann, everything looks beautiful! Fabulous job on the drawer & your three tiered basket is great! Blessings!
I think your room turned out very nice. I'm thinking since that tiered caddy is sitting beside a chair, you might want to put some reading material in it and a few small potted plants mixed in. That would soften the lines of the caddy too. I wouldn't fill it full though or it will start to look cluttered.
Absolutely gorgeous! Everything looks so fresh and crisp. I don't have any ideas different than the ones mentioned for the baskets. Really adore that rooster picture too.
What made you decide to go to Word Press? I'm curious.
Ann, I love the lightness & brightness of your living room redo! It really looks beautiful.
I'm crazy about that drawer & really love how you filled it.
Following you on Linky now too.
Gosh, Ann, your room looks great! I love all the happy, cheery colors. LOVE every element in it! As far as the 3 tiered baskets, I can see a mix of ivy on the top (to spill over), some moss and glass balls (I saw some handblown ones recently,) and some fabric covered balls! Hey, you're all about fabric! And we can figure out Wordpress together!
Hi Ann! I love the architecture and texture the tiered basket gives. I would just use the bottom for magazines, because you actually will read them while sitting in the comfy chair. I think if you start putting stuff in all three baskets it will lose its scuptural appeal. I also think I would turn the blue pillow into the gold side to warm up the colors. I think the two small frames could be removed so you have a nice clean look with the starburst and the three tiered basket. Instead of the white urn on the table maybe something in a natural concrete or even a black would ground the area. IMHO Love the colors you are using so fresh and crisp!! You are one talented lady on the sewing machine!!Happy Weekend,
Kathysue
Ann this looks like a page right out of a magazine, I LOVE it all!! Love the pretty vignette on your table and the three tiered stand! How about book bundles for one of them. Followed you on Linky, I joined Linky too.
I love the drawer and its contrast against the very traditional table. Maybe switching out the knobs to something with a nice swirly brown pattern would help bring some warmth to the space? The current ones remind me of eyeballs. :0 Several people have mentioned moss balls in the tiered stand and I think the suggestion of including worn wooden spools is spot on!
I love your living room, Ann ... so serene and inviting! The fabric on the stools is beautiful, and I love that you covered the chairs in the dining room with the same fabric. Glad you could channel your "MMS," too. :) You've gotten fabulous ideas for your baskets ... look forward to seeing what you do!
Ann, clicking on your page is always a sure smile. I love your yellows and blues...always such a refreshing combination.
I absolutely love what you've done with your space. Maybe I'd use the baskets to add seasonal items like shells, etc, but I keep seeing some bright yellow lemons in there, maybe mixed with some other natural elements. Do show us what you do. I know it will be perfect.
Thank you for visiting, thank you for the Linky follow...and OF COURSE, I'm following too.
Much love!!
You living room looks beautiful! I love the drawer with the jars and plates, I have a drawer that I need to do something with.
I don't know what I'd put in the baskets. I have a large apothecary jar and I don't know what to even put in that!
Have a good weekend, dear Ann.
Hugs, Cindy
Your living room is so peaceful and beautiful! And I love the fabric you used for the stools and pillows! :)
I love your room. It is so fresh and full of cheer. Admiring your sewing talents and like all the accessories.
For your wire basket....How about some of your fabric samples folded neatly for inspiration along with notions, etc. you use for your sewing. Anything that describes you...things you enjoy and like.
I followed you on Linky and learned that meant I needed an account too. I had not done that yet and it seems many are doing it so thanks for giving me reason to GET WITH IT!
Ann, I have that same question concerning a three tiered wooden thing that I am not even sure what it is called. So I will be interested how you fill your baskets. Since I crochet I'm thinking colorful yarn and magazines. I would like mine to be attractive but functional. You have done a good job of pulling together several styles. It gives an easy comfortable feel to the room. I wouldn't feel confident in my ability to mix country, classic and modern but you have done it well.---------- Shannon
Ann, I love the fabric on the stools and your cute rooster. I have the same tiered stand in my home office and I have a hard time finding what looks good in it. Right now there are some old post cards, seashells and a couple of paperbacks. xo, Sherry
So lovely. I really like the stools, and the rooster painting is fabulous. (I have a thing for chickens.) If I had the wire tiers, at leave one level would have balls of yarn since I knit.
Oh, Ann, it's so pretty! Just love it! Let's see, on the bottom, how about decor magazines, the other two could be filled with different size spheres. You could get styrofoam balls and cover them with pretty scraps of fabric that would coordinate with your stool boxes. Can't wait to see what you do with it. Thank you for the visit and the sweet comment @TheDedicatedHouse on my valance. It means the world to me. Hope you have a grand Sunday. Toodles, Kathryn
Your living room looks so cozy, I just love the colors. The ottomans are beautiful; you did a great job, I just love the fabric.
The wire tiered basket....I almost bought....I truely love it, but also thought what will I put in it. I am glad you asked, I am going to reread all your comments to see the suggestions!
Take care
jodi
Looks absolutely gorgeous. Love those Ikea stools. Hmmm… What will you put in that basket?
Ann, I so love the room. I agree with Sue about the tiered, books on bottom, then yarn or something with color (maybe even yellow/ red)then liked the candy dish ideas for the top. Chair needs a throw in a pretty yellow/gold color, I think that would warm the corner right up. I cup on the table for tea and maybe a book under the pitcher in the drawer to raise it up just a bit. I love, love, love the drawer and the rooster picture, you are one lucky lady. You didn't know you were going to get a letter. Can't wait to see one of your wonderful creations on the chair!
Ann, you found a great looking and versatile piece. Everyone's suggestions are so good. What about a jar/container of jelly beans or small candies?..and of course, books/magazines, remotes, coasters for a drink? I'd probably have the tiered stand loaded down with things (not a good design look)
because I'd be cuddled up in the chair with a book or laptop. Looking forward to seeing what you decide.
Clever idea to create the vignette in the drawer. ;-)
Love your drawer and i would keep the wire baskets!
Hi Ann!
Your home has been to much fun to watch as things have changed!
I remember looking at all the lovely memo samples of fabrics in luscious blues and yellows and here it all is in living color!
Love the drawer idea!
Great vignette, Ann.

Your room is soooo lovely Ann! I'm smitten with the calmness it offers. But your drawer with masons in it was just adorable! The perfect unique touch!
