Last year shortly after I started my blog,
I met two absolutely wonderful women.
Babs from upstairs downstairs
and
Alison from The Polohouse.
Last year Babs hosted a “Show Your Tartan Day.”
You can read my Tartan post from 2011
where I talk about Gordon Tartan.
Gordon is my mother’s maiden name.
This year Babs and Alison have teamed up with
and are hosting a Tartan Parade.
I had to join in the fun of course…so here’s what I came up with.
Pillows (shocker) made from Gordon Tartan.
They fit right in my family room.
Classic navy and khaki.
Classic navy and khaki.
I added a tartan ruffle to my lumbar pillow.
The reverse side of this pillow is monogrammed.
I just pinned the ruffle on so it’s not permanent.
Here’s the flip side of the pillow.
Thank you to these 4 fab women for hosting
their Tartan Parade.
I’m already looking forward to next year!

Love your pillows. Look great on your sofa.
Great new pillows, loved that the ruffle is removable, great way to get many looks from on pillow:)
looks beautiful, I was a Scotish Highland dancer and teacher until my head injury, if theres one thing I know a bit asbout is tartan, my mum was a MacDonald, I wore two different tartans, my dress kilt and country dress sash was a casual tartan, more for field work or hunting, I love your pillows, I always wanted a navy kilt when I was too little too understand why I wore the MacDonald.Your room just shines ,
Beautiful Ann! Love love love those pillows!
Beautiful, Ann! Love those pretty pillows.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Really pretty. My only family tartan is Wallace and I'm not wild about it. Did have a Wallace dog bed once though!
I am not a tartan kinda boy, but I do enjoy it when others use it. Love both of these ladies and your blog as well. Happy Easter. Richard from My Old Historic House.
Love it….that tartan print was my daughter's Catholic school uniform! Pillows are great!
Perfect!
The Tartain Party has been fun – funny now I see all the plaid I didn't realize I had…haha.
Love your pillows, well done, Ann!!
Well, you couldn't have picked a more perfect tartan! lol Maybe we're kin!! Pamela GORDON!
Ann- Those are beautiful plaids~! Picture perfect! I love plaid and when my son gets set up in his new place he is going to have quite a bit of plaid- whether he likes it or not!;>) xo Diana
Ann, so happy you joined the parade. The Gordon tartan pillows are a nice addition to our sofa. Love the ruffle accent on the lumbar pillow. Clever! Thanks for linking and joining the fun. We definitely need to make this a tradition, don't you think? ~ Sarah
How cool to have your own Tartan! love the pillows, of course! Everything looks gorgeous and so pulled together.
No. 606 – I like the style of your couch and chair. That could easily fit into my living room decor, and adding the blue plaid pillows makes it pop.
I love your tartan pillows! They look great on your sofa.
Ann!
You went all out!
From the pillows to the Tartan Parade typefont overlay on your photos…..WOW!
Bless your heart. Love it all. Your room looks amazing and Gordon has always been one of my top five most fave patterns.
Thanks so much for sharing and marching in our little Parade this week!
Love ya!
Alison
Ann, Your Gordon tartan pillows are beautiful and work so well on your khaki sofa. How cute is the tartan ruffle on the lumbar pillow. I'm so glad you joined the Tartan Parade and thanks for including your link from last year. I enjoyed revisiting that post.
It's been fun. Let's do it again next year! Happy Tartan Day!
I really like the ruffle addition! I am a Wallace descendent also. As Sweet Posy said, it's not my favorite. I did buy both my grown daughter the Wallace tartan scarves for Christmas, one year. I've been working on family history for several years, so they enjoyed knowing what their tartans looked like.

Well of course you would put pillows in this party! Your tartan ones look great. You're so lucky to be able to make your own like that.
Hi Ann, This is one of my favorite tartan patterns and the little ruffle is just perfect! Somehow I missed your bunny hop, but I will be watching for your next party! Linda
The tartan pillows are splendid Ann.
Love the pillows and the ruffle accent!
I'm a big tartan fan so I LOVE those!

Love your pillows! Thanks for joining the Tartan Parade! ~Delores
Your pillows look fabulous….I wouldn't expect anything less. ;)
I saw the tartan parade at upstairs, downstairs, but I must confess, I don't know what a tartan is.
But my curiosity is piqued and I'm going to find out.
