It’s been a week since I posted so I have tons to share.
Pop a Diet Coke (or a cold beer) and get comfy…
As I have posted about painting my first floor rooms over the past year,
I have received some questions about paint colors.
Here they all are in one place.
I’m still on that quest for an organized blog. (Wink.)
This custom creamy white is in every room in my downstairs.
Walls and trim in living and dining rooms.
Trim in entry.
Trim and cabinets in kitchen.
Walls and trim in family room.
I know nothing about paint formulas.
I included below the information from the top of my paint can.
I think it will work with any paint brand but I’m not promising anything!
Formula: Extra White base
EG-SHEL
BAC COLORANT OZ 32 64 128
B1-Black - 1 1 -
R3-Magenta – - 1 1
Y3-Deep Gold - 7 - -
W1-White 4 32 - -
This Laura Ashley yellow used to be on my living room walls
and below the chair rail in my dining room.
I adored it for years but eventually got tired of it.
It’s very bright and I used semi-gloss which didn’t help.
It remains on my kitchen island and I do still love it there.
Laura Ashley colors are available at Lowe’s.
Navy paint colors are hard. I have tried over the years
to find the perfect one. I didn’t have much success
until I found Naval by SW.
In my opinion, it is a classic and true navy blue.
When I was googling “Naval” to get this paint swatch image,
the results brought up a bunch of my blog pictures.
It may sound lame but I was thrilled…
my mouth sort of dropped open and I laughed out loud.
I know…incredibly lame!
To make things simple,
once I found Naval I just used the lighter versions
found on the paint strip for my walls.
Windy Blue has just a hint of periwinkle.
It’s very fresh and bright.
Upward is the next lightest shade from Windy Blue.
Honestly, on my walls I can’t really tell much difference.
I probably should have gone up 2 shades.
Live and learn.
Life on Sutton Place is all about finding a new normal
since the passing of my father-in-law.
Our days are OK but in the evenings we are a bit lost.
The beautiful weather has helped. My husband is golfing again
and I’m trying to get out with Kelly for a walk.
As I have said, life goes on.
I have not hung my gallery wall in my entry yet
but I made myself this little tool.
Sabrina Soto showed me how to do it.
Hopefully it will make the process easier and quicker.
I’ll let you know on that though…
Thanks for hanging in there with me.
I’ll close with something beautiful.
My first Knock-Out rose of the year.
I’m working on a big order for Miss Mustard Seed
so when I send that off I’ll be back.
Not sure when that will be.
Happy Sunday!

Love your colors- so New England Coastal – fresh bright and exciting,
I SURE love your window seat. Am actually thinking of having one built for Romeo in our downstairs home office with built in bookcshelves. I need a change in there big time. It hasn't been painted long, but for some reason -perhaps because I spent my life in here – I have quickly tired of it.
and lastly- there is nothing at all lame of being proud of yourself. How wonderful to Google and find yourself, how AWESOME actually.
Keep up the good work.
Glad your hubs is getting back to golfing – and I do hope you all have lessened grief keeping busy doing the things you enjoy – with those who love you best.
Hugs.
Thanks for sharing your colours. I love them. What's not to like about blue and yellow, right. So glad to hear you're starting to settle into yourself again. Happy sewing and see you soon. :)
Lame? I don't think so! I think it's exciting and goes to show that people are very interested in what you're posting.
I love your colours – all my favourites!
Thank-you for sharing your paint colors with us. I am curious about the tool and how it works in hanging pictures. Please share it with us!
its so good to hear from you, a new normal takes time, beautiful photos as usual, thats a beauty of a rose!
Beautiful colors! Thanks for sharing.
Ann,
I have been away, myself. I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your Father-in-Law. I truly am.
Your blog IS organized! If it isn't, what does it say about mine?
I cannot get used to the new layouts…everything takes time.

Beautiful, Ann! I have been looking for the perfect white wall color so thanks for sharing.

Love, Love, Love your paint colors. Thanks for sharing.
I love the colors you have used in your house. In fact, I love your entire house. It looks so comfortable, warm and cozy. It's good that your family is going on with life and adjusting to the changes. Continued blessings to you! —-

Hi Ann,
Your home is looking so lovely.
The color that you have chosen are so pretty.
I love that cow slip color by LA.
I've used it several times and it's a very pretty yellow.
hugs
Sissie
Your paint colors are beautiful and your house is gorgeous. I just love your style and think I might have to copy you :)
Blessings,
Andrea xo
Ann, your yellow Knock-Out is beautiful. I have a few of the yellow ones, too. Some of my other roses developed some black spot, but I think we treated them just in time. If I lose any, I'll replant with Knock-Outs! That chart was a neat way to show your colors and your stairwell is looking gorgeous!
love. love. these colors.
I love the colors in your kitchen! I have it pinned because someday I would like to give mine a makeover. Lovely!
Sherry
Glad to see your doing well! Look forward to seeing more when you are ready to come back! :)

We are still meeting ourselves coming and going and have another week of work, at least on the house and appointments.
Our son in law's mother passed away Friday. Arrangements for next weekend. She and our oldest daughter were very close.
With everything happening, I have lagged behind in the land of blog. Something had to give and the Back Porch and my bloggy obligations are the things I've had to neglect. Perhaps one of these days I will have time to get back up to speed. In the meantime, I am visiting when I have a minute and wanted to come by and see how you are. I love that you posted your colors. I love them all of course, alone and in the combinations you've used. As for the neutrals going on at our house…there is method to our madness.:-)
I'm so glad you shared your home colors. I love them all. They are such a pretty palette of colors.
I just spent time on your blog and it was time well spent. Thank you! I love your home. Can't wait to check out your shop.
I like your colors a lot and I think it's smart to follow the colors on the same color card. The tones track with each other perfectly.
I don't think it's lame to find your blog come up like that- I think it's wonderful!
I'm curious how your picture hanging tool works. When the right moment hits you'll get the gallery hung!
No way is that lame, Ann!! You go, girl!! Your colors are wonderful together. Well done.
I'm so sorry about the loss of your father-in-law. Getting back into the swing of things takes some time. Glad you are starting to see glimmers of "normal". blessings ~ tanna

Love all the colors! Have a wonderful week!
I just adore you! Love that your images popped up when you googled naval. And you have every right to be delighted over that. Love all of your paint colors. Your home is so fresh and inviting. Peace be with you, xo

What a sweet rose blossom. The first of many to come this summer!
What a gorgeous soothing space C:
I adore that yellow island. It makes me smile:)
I love the way you have used color together in your house. Ordinarily, I am not a fan of blue, but I adore it in your rooms. You've used them in a very attractive manner. I really like the off white that you have used in the living room, it's gorgeous!
Hugs, Cindy
You have such "happy" colors in your home. What a pleasure to browse through!

Ann I am happy to hear thing are getting settled at Sutton Place! A new normal, that is a good definition!
You home is so lovely and the colors are fresh. I am so attracted to yellows, creamy whites and blue.
And NOT lame… fun! It is fun to get a little recognition!
Ann, Thanks for sharing your paint colors. Love the yellow on your island and you navy front door! I really like the shade of white you used on trim etc. I just love looking at your home.
Your photos are just amazing! I am so in love with them!
Ann, Thanks for sharing all your paint colors. Love your yellow kitchen island. So cheerful and welcoming. Did you say once that you liked Sarah Richardson's designs? Your kitchen makes me think of her designs…and that's a good thing. :)

Oh, are your yellow knock outs new?
This is completely unrelated to your colors, but where did you get the planters on your front porch? Love them!
Came here from the Lucketts blog. A fellow local blogger here. Loved the custom white that you used in the living room. Thanks for sharing the formula. I'm gonna use it in my home 9 not sure where but I really like it).
