Last night I was honored to host a party celebrating Kaitlyn’s commissioning into the United States Navy Nurse Candidate Program. Kaitlyn is the youngest daughter of my good friend, Jeanne. My family has watched this young lady grow from a darling little girl to a poised and confident young woman…right down the street. Officer material for sure. Pictured above are Kaitlyn’s dad and brother…both products of the USN.
It was a lovely evening here in Ohio. The hot weather broke a few days ago after a much needed rain brightened things up again.
Jeanne did the dessert buffet and I took care of the fun stuff…flowers and tables. I had a ball. A party is always great incentive to do things you’ve been putting off…so all sorts of little things were checked off my list. I’m most thrilled that my switchplates were re-hung on the walls that were painted 2 months ago.
Most of the flowers came from my garden…with the exception of the white hydrangeas. Mine just aren’t blooming well so we raided our neighbor’s bushes (with his permission of course!) He doesn’t do anything and his are blooming like you wouldn’t believe. It’s totally not fair.
I don’t do things of this sort very often. It was so nice to have the time to help out my friend. Time is what I have been short of lately and I’m very thankful that has changed.
Moving on…now I’d like to introduce the newest addition to my Etsy Shop…my American Flag Pillow Cover.
This is a limited edition with 5 available for immediate shipment. It reverses to vintage red and blue striped grain sack.
I’ll be back in a few days with my new front door basket. Enjoy your Sunday!
