Last week when I was whining about hitting the blogging wall, I honestly wondered how in the world I was going to get back in the groove. My rooms are “finished” and I really don’t have a big project waiting in the wings. I know I can always add a new set of pillows or jug of flowers…but basically things are looking pretty good.
So I decided to work with what I had to give my living and dining rooms a little pick-me-up. I needed some temporary chaos. So I switched some lamps around and played musical chairs with my accessories. My side table in the dining room went from this…
I used up the very last inch of my yellow buffalo check fabric and made a table runner. The moss balls in the urns are new…but they were a bargain at $7 each.
So with things in the dining room under control I moved on to the living room. I sure hope you aren’t tired of seeing my antique chest. If you are, just click away right now! I loved the way it looked in the fall…and at Christmas. So to make it look completely different I went asymmetrical. This is not an easy thing for me to do. I like things to match and I need balance.
There you have it. It took a little time, a little confusion and lots of moving around but I managed to get a new look for my rooms. The only expense was the pair of moss balls I got for the urns…other than that I didn’t spend a dime.
I’ll be back in a day or two…but with what I don’t know. It’ll be a surprise for everyone ~ including me!
