Let’s be honest. We all know I’m not much of a painter. In fact, I can count the number of paint posts I’ve done on one hand. So why did Maison Blanche pick me to co-host their Mega Paint Giveaway? Because if I can do it, anyone can. Their products are amazingly easy to use. Here is a little side table I’ve shown before. It sits by one of the slipper chairs in my living room. As you can see below it’s in pretty rough shape.
I didn’t sand or prepare the table in any way before I started painting. I didn’t need any special brushes. I just used an inexpensive chip brush so I could throw it away when I was finished. The first coat didn’t quite cover.
But after the second coat I was quite pleased with myself. The one word that kept coming to mind was “creamy.” The texture of the paint is creamy…like thick whipping cream. The color is Miel (a French word for honey) which is a soft, warm yellow.
After two coats of paint I applied the Maison Blanche Antique Wax in Amber. Once again, I’m not an expert on wax. In fact, I am one of those people who might think about skipping the wax step all together. But this wax was a cinch to apply and I just used an old rag. I gave it two coats and then buffed it to a soft glow.
When I was finished waxing and buffing, I got very brave and decided to distress the rim of the table top. I love the way it turned out. I added another quick coat of wax and buffed again.
It was at this moment that I thought a choir somewhere should break out in the Hallelujah Chorus.
I love the way it turned out and even more than that, I adore the color. This is a true, butter yellow. Just think of a stick of butter and you’re there.
I am so happy to be able to offer you all a chance to try the Maison Blanche line of paint and complimentary products. This giveaway is worth over $225.00 and you get to pick the colors you want.
This giveaway is now closed.
Maison Blanche provided me with my choice of paint color and wax, but all opinions and comments are totally my own.
