Use these easy fall tablescape ideas for Thanksgiving or autumn gatherings. Place setting ideas & centerpiece inspiration.
Up today are some very easy fall tablescape ideas that are perfect for autumn gatherings and Thanksgiving. This holiday season, I’m focusing on keeping my decor easy, budget-friendly, and as natural as possible.
Natural Centerpiece
This tablescape got its start when I made a natural centerpiece that began with a tray as the base. I used seeded eucalyptus, white pumpkins, dried hydrangeas, and fresh bittersweet to fill the tray. This easy centerpiece was placed on a striped table runner for a more layered look.

Building the Place Settings
When I put the place settings together, I kept them simple because the centerpiece sort of steals the show. I began with navy placemats and ivory plates. I then added stunning leaf salad plates, napkins with autumnal colors, ivory flatware, and an orange velvet pumpkin for a pop of color.
Place Cards
I created little place cards from last year’s Thanksgiving napkin ring printable. You could also easily print the names of your guests on small cards to make the tags a bit more personal.
We’ll be a small number for Thanksgiving dinner this year, but I still like to make an effort and add some festive touches to the table. They don’t have to be elaborate or expensive. Use things you already have in a different way to make things feel new.
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but today’s post wraps up my fall decor for the season. It seems like just yesterday it was August, and we were full of plans for welcoming autumn into our homes. I hope you’ve had some time to sit and watch the leaves turn.

Ann, your table is classic and elegant! I love the colors, and the ease of your centerpiece being on a tray, so that should you need to, you can easily move it out of the way in case you want to put your serving platters directly onto the table. Happy Autumn, Ann! xo Lidy
Oh my as always “BEAUTIFUL” Love your table and the ideas of velvet pumpkins and wonderful place cards with verses As always you WOW ME!!!!
Looking lovely Ann,I especially like the velvet pumpkins.
Ann, I notice you use the eucalyptus often in your arrangements. I love it, do you have a retail source for it or is it something you have had for a while?
Hi Sheila! I had to special order that eucalyptus from a local flower shop. It can be difficult to find. A good online source is Etsy. There are sellers that feature eucalyptus bundles as well as garlands. Here is an affiliate link to some listings: http://rstyle.me/n/ctmjkrb4svx.
I hope this helps!
