With each new season comes renewed energy and a bit of a fresh start. We can switch up our decor, change things around, give ourselves a new look. No time is it more fun than in the Fall. The colors and textures can bring a room to life. Even one pop of orange is sometimes enough to change the whole look of a room. For my entry, I stayed simple and somewhat neutral…but with a pop of orange.
The pop of orange is accomplished with just a few mini pumpkins I picked up at our local farm market. I filled my lantern with baby boo pumpkins but topped them off with an orange one.
Natural twill bows around the white pumpkins and cotton bolls in a wood bucket don’t have a lot of color, but are full of texture so I think it works.
For the entry chest of drawers, I left the wood tray there and just changed the accessories. I thought about heading to the grocery for some fresh flowers but instead headed to my back yard. I have two giant oak trees and one of them has low branches. I was able to reach a few and cut some off. I even lucked out and got a couple of branches with acorns still attached.
The little pumpkin is actually a candle that I’ve had for years. It’s that pop of orange I was talking about and even though it’s very small, it adds that touch of fall I was going for.
The other corner of my little entry houses my tiered shelf from Decor Steals. I gave it an update with baby boo and mini orange pumpkins.
I added cotton bolls to the ironstone pitcher and called it a day. This literally took 3 minutes because I didn’t totally reinvent the wheel. I switched out my rag balls for the pumpkins but most everything else stayed the same. The ball jars on the top were empty so I filled one with pumpkin vase filler and the other one with cotton bolls.
I switched out my DIY Watercolor Wall Art that I made in the spring for these ones with a fall theme. You can download these three images by clicking HERE.
Changing seasonal decor should be fun…not stressful or time-consuming. Use what you already have but maybe in a different way. Add a natural element but keep it simple. Here is the source for the baby boo pumpkins: Autumn Harvest Pumpkins. Yes, they were a little pricey but they are so dang cute that it was worth every cent. I can’t grow my own so buying them is my only option!
After the hottest week ever, the temps have cooled and it feels like fall again. I am so ready. Take care and see you soon!
Very pretty….such grace to your style!
It looks great, Ann! Love those little touches added in. I like to do that, too ~ just add in to what is already out. I haven’t gotten any real pumpkins yet, but I like to add a few in both inside and out.
I love it Ann, I especially love the oak leaves in the pretty vase. I need inspiration like this, I have got to get my house decorated a little. We have moved into a larger home and it isn’t even fully decorated yet. I just don’t have the time for it. Thanks for the lovely inspiration though, perhaps it will get me started!
I am just inquiring about what color paint the front door is. Thanks.
Love your fall display. Is there some way to keep the oak leaves and acrons nice or do you let them dry?
Honestly I’m not sure! I cut the branches and put them in water right away. That was a few days ago and they are still fresh. I think I can keep them alive as long as I cut the ends and freshen the water. It’s worth a try!
Ann, your arrangement is so pretty and clean and just perfect for Fall! I am decorating today. Love this time of year with all the beautiful colors!
Sooooo pretty Ann!!
As always, I love your decor and thanks for sharing.
Fall is my favorite time of year to decorate. These are some great ideas! Thanks for sharing.
What a beautiful way to greet your family and guests with your fall decor Ann. Kathleen in Az
Absolutely beautiful, Ann! I love your neutral Fall decor … simplistic and classy! I look forward to seeing more!
Ann, I’m pleased that you are planning a tutorial “how to download your prints.” I know you and other bloggers have shared it in the past. I cut four hydrangea blossoms that had turned shades of green from pink and hopefully using the water method will have lovely dried flowers to display this fall. Wallpaper is off in living room, now for the painting. Then I hope to add touches of fall to our home.
Simple but delightful,i like to bring things in from outdoors also. Thanks.
Ann, you look like you are ready for fall! Your entryway is festive but not over the top. And the bows are the icing on the cake, at least for me. I love bows!
HI Ann, Your home’s entry looks so welcoming and I like the use of white and pops of orange and aqua. I have put away ‘summer’ and brought out ‘autumn’ here as well just in time for the much cooler temperature that we have today. It was in 90 for 3 or 4 days until today and it’s only 70 and nice and clear….no humidity. What a change! Have a beautiful week ahead.
Pam
LOVE IT. I love your style. Classic, elegant, but still warm and inviting. Thanks for sharing!
Just enough, not too much. Classic, softly elegant, comforting. Beautiful pops of color, bringing just the right balance of fall color with the inviting neutrals. Lovely, inspiring, makes me want to cozy up on your sofa with a cup of tea. Thanks for sharing! Your home always says, “Come in, let’s talk.”
Thank you Sherry for your lovely words. Have a good week!
Gorgeous Anne, I have that same tier basket and I can’t wait to decorate it for fall. You always do the best!

Ann, can I ask what are those white pumpkins on the stairs made from? They almost look like they are paper-mache.
Great decorating ideas!
Hi MaryJean! Those pumpkins are actually wood. They are pretty heavy. I got them at a decor shop up on Lake Erie last summer. They had a whole bunch at a great price and I wish I would have bought more than 2! Thanks for visiting…Ann
Really? I would have never guessed looking at the photo. Well, I live near Lake Erie (although it’s a big lake). Do you remember the town, festival, etc? I might be able to get to it next year.
Thanks for the response!
It’s a store called K & K in Sandusky OH. They recently moved to a new location so I don’t even know exactly where they are!
I’ll try looking for them. Thanks!
Simple’ little touches…not too much…that’s what I’m going for. You did it beautifully! ;)
Oh I adore all your sweet fall touches.
Ann, I like your style…quite, but noticeable details….going into fall. :-)
Touches of fall look great in your home Ann.
Love to look at the photos of your home and dream. From the little projects to the big ones, they are awesome. Gives you the cozy and warm feelings of security. You are so talented and I always look forward to seeing what new you have come up with. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you Jackie…what a nice thing to say. I am so glad you are following along. Happy Sunday!
Ann, your home is absolutely gorgeous. The style and ease of your blog is perfect. You are like a breath of fresh air.
Very simple, but keeping classic. You manage to change enough to update without going too frou frou. You are inspiring and very creative.
Look forward to your next post.
Susan
Beautiful Ann! I love the cotton in the pitcher. So pretty all of your Fall decor.
I like it all, Ann. So often when I look at what you’ve done I think ‘that would work for me’. We have new challenges with a new/old house but I am looking forward to the fun of reinventing all my old standbys of each season. Thanks for promising a ‘how to’ with the printables. I’ll be watching for it.
Gorgeous as always. Looking forward to the printables!
Hopefully on Tuesday Anna…thanks for visiting!
I love whatever you do! We don’t have cotton bolls to decorate with, but we can use other items. Like you said; to change from one season to the next should take only minutes or maybe a day to get everything out and put everything away, but you need to do that every 3 months don’t we?
I love this look. It inspired me to do some decorating this am. What is pumpkin vase filler and what are the objects in the bottom basket? Just started following your blog about a month ago and really am enjoying it.
Pumpkin vase filler can be found at most craft stores or decor specialty shops. It comes in a bag sort of like potpourri. Look in the dried floral section of your craft store. On that bottom basket I have vintage spools, mason jars and 3 little pumpkins. I got the spools at my antique mall a few years ago. I’m not exactly sure how they were used but I love them! Thanks for visiting and for your comment…Ann
I love that it is small changes so not a lot of investment (so a splurge for Baby Boos is warranted) and I think the oak limbs so much more original than flowers. We have tons of baby oaks that have popped up in our front yard that I have been meaning to dig up and pot (I give them away to folks) so I can just bring some of those in. I have been painting some Fall signs for the Gallery and I am totally loving the Fall colors. I want that tiered shelf. I will have to keep my eye on Decor Steals and see if they have another.
Decor Steals offered that stand a few weeks ago but it’s now sold out again. I bet they come back with it sometime! Thanks for stopping by Pamela!
Love the silver with the pumpkins – very classy! Those wooden buckets are awesome too!

I love the cotton and the pops of orange. I am in full swing for fall decorating too. It’s also my favorite time to decorate. I love all the colors available for fall.
Beautiful touches!
Your Fall touches look amazing, Ann! I love that you didn’t spend a lot of time on it but you would never know it. I really love your tiered shelf and the wonderful collections you have displayed!
Would you mind sharing the paint color and manufacturer in your foyer?
Danielle it’s Sherwin Williams Upward. Here is the link to more info: https://www.onsuttonplace.com/my-paint-colors/ Thanks for stopping by!
Ann, your subtle touches in your entry are a great way to ease into the fall season. I have a few things underway but nothing is complete! My favorite thing would be those gorgeous oak leaves in your white vase! We have live oak trees that produce tiny acorns, but none of the oaks that produce the big acorns. Makes me want to plant one!
Soft & lovely fall decorating Ann! Love the natural look of everything!!
Blessings, Edie Marie
Lovely! I’m chuckling over the cotton bolls though – I’m more apt to find pine cones here in mountain country.
Jan I got a big box of cotton bolls last year from a lovely reader. I’m not from the South but I adore them!
I love your neutral based autumn decor in your entryway, Ann! Everything you do is so classy and elegant. Love the idea of the leaves in the white pitcher…so pretty!
