A few days ago I had some visitors here On Sutton Place. A husband and wife team of professional photographers called Gridley + Graves. They arrived on my doorstep with a bucket of flowers and bags of fruit…and of course their equipment. The most amazing camera equipment I have ever seen. After I showed them around, they got right to work and the photo shoot began. They started in the living room as you can see in the photo above. It was so interesting to see how they made subtle changes in styling for the camera’s eye.
They used all my things which made me feel good. I wondered if they would bring their own props but they did not. As they moved from room to room, I loved seeing the way they set up their shots. I tried not to lurk about too much but I was able to pop in and snap a few pics of what they were doing. I’ve always struggled with the huge windows in my main rooms in regards to taking pictures. Anne and Gary knew exactly what to do to fix the light issue with these big umbrellas. The right tools for the job make all the difference.
The photos taken will appear in a home decor magazine probably next spring. I don’t know which one yet but will let you know when I find out. The day was exciting and one I really never thought would happen. I have dreamed about what it would be like to have my home featured in a magazine but honestly, I never thought the dream would come true. I recently started a bucket list of places I’d like to go and things I’d like to do before the arthritis really sets in. A magazine feature was on that list and is the first item checked off. One down, several more to go.
I am still finding little things out of place on my blog as a result of the new theme. Pictures missing or recipes in the wrong post. I am trying to get everything fixed as soon as possible. If you need something and can’t find it, just shoot me a message through my contact form.
