Welcome to my impromptu new series, It’s Still Summer! There is no place on earth that loves Fall more than Blogland…but I’m not ready to let summer go just yet. I’ve come up with a few ideas to keep summer around for just a bit longer. First up is a Lemon and Burlap Wreath.
This was a really fun project because I had almost everything I needed and it was fast. I started with 2 grapevine wreaths wired together, one on top of the other. Stacking gives a door wreath so much added depth.
I picked up this greenery garland at Hobby Lobby because it reminded me of Rosemary. When I saw it I just knew it was the right choice. I also got some 8 inch burlap ribbon.
I gathered everything else I needed and started by attaching the garland to the wreath in about 5 places with florist wire. Next I made a burlap bow following my tutorial on How To Make a Perfect Bow. I attached the bow to the wreath with twine.
All that was left to do was attach the lemons in clusters around the bow. I took my hole punch and drove a hole through each lemon so I could insert a piece of wire. I then just wired the lemons on the wreath.
This whole project from start to finish took about an hour. My family will tell you that I am sort of obsessed with wreaths…and I have to agree. I love making and re-making them. To me, there is nothing that says “welcome” better than a wreath on a front door.
My little shadow was, of course, on the porch for the photo shoot. I’ll be back tomorrow with features from our Blitzed on Pinterest party. I actually remembered this time! Then on Friday I’ll have another idea for keeping summer around just a little longer. See you then…

Love the wreath! Your Spring wreath is the first wreath that I had ever made thanks to your tutorials. Keep the tutorials coming!
Such a pretty wreath…I love it Ann! Love the sweet pic of Kelly too:)
Ugh yes Fall is approaching at a rapid rate and I am just not at all on board with it. It was 68 and rainy all day long…totally felt like a Fall day & I just felt bummed. But, this post completely cheered me up. Lemons are just a perfect perk me up “it’s summer” kind of thing for me!! Love the wreath..it’s beautiful!
Ann, It’s absolutely gorgeous! I love lemons and it looks stunning against your black door and it screams summer! Yes, summer is still here and people seen to forget that it lasts until September 21. I guess people associate going back to school to be the end of summer (usually around Labor Day). My goodness Hobby Lobby has been putting out all the Christmas holiday decoration for over 3 weeks now! I say hang onto summer for as long as you can!
How does the pinning blitz party work? Also, I don’t understand Google circles and social media? I want to get more involved. Could someone please offer me a tutorial. I’m back to blogging after a 5 month hiatus with a new living room update. Maybe I’ll attempt to make a summer wreath! Off to catch-up reading your blog now!
Love this wreath. It looks beautiful on your door! Your blog is darling! I will definitely be back!
I love this wreath! And I love this post. It is only August 1st! I am not nearly ready to let go of summer!

Great wreath! Love the lemon yellow with your door color and I REALLY like your choice of garland, It does look a little like rosemary. I haven’t had a wreath on my door all summer. I may just have to copy this one. Thanks for the inspiration.

I love a pretty wreath on the front door too. You always make the prettiest wreaths! I love how you used lemons with the rosemary vine. You could even hang that in your blue and yellow kitchen!
Very pretty. I love lemons. I don’t want this summer to end either. Seems like I am just getting to enjoy it.
Living in northern MN, “It’s still summer!” is my mantra this time of year! I hate to see it go :) The wreath looks great and I love the pop of color it provides on your door!
Ann – Love that wreath! I, like you, think one can never have too many wreaths! They are so welcoming.
Enjoy Summer – We still have a good month left!

Very summery Ann! I could use your wreath to go with the dish I am making for Foodie Friday.
LOVE that garland. So feathery!
Beautiful..like a cold drink of lemonade!
I love it!
I LOVE this idea for a summer series because I feel the exact same way Ann! I adore Fall but I’m not ready to move on just yet. Summer is late to come to Oregon so I want to enjoy every last bit of it! Your wreath is just beautiful!

It’s lovely, Ann! You are so right about the garland. It does resemble Rosemary. Great tip to layer two grapevine wreaths!
