I have said from the very beginning that I would never waste your time with posts that say nothing. I may occasionally write about something that doesn’t interest you…and this just may be one of those posts. I’m sorry about that…BUT. (You had to know that was coming.) This blog also chronicles my life as I attempt to run a creative business and try to make a small living doing something I love. Enter the Reliable IronMaven.
Besides a pair of scissors and a sewing machine, the most important tool for someone who sews is an iron. In the last year, my little $35 iron has been a trooper. It has hung in there and never let me down. Recently I have noticed it isn’t as hot and isn’t letting out enough steam. So I asked my sweet friend, Jill from Sew A Fine Seam, what kind of iron she used. She introduced me to this stunning piece of pure beauty.
In the end I chose this model because it was right in the middle. It isn’t the most expensive but it isn’t the cheapest either. Now…before you choke at the price of this baby let me explain. I have a birthday coming up and my family NEVER knows what to get me. It’s even harder now that I spend my days in sweats and rarely leave the house. (Totally not kidding.)
So I gently suggested to my daughter that they all chip in and get me this iron. My kids were both home over the weekend and they gave me my gift early. I think it might rank right up there with my most favorite gifts ever. Sad but true! After I have figured out how to use it I will give you an update. Soon I hope.
So that’s what’s going on around here. Pretty exciting stuff.
There’s a fun series coming up over at Uncommon Designs. I’m not really a tablescape expert so I was very honored to be included. My post will go up on Tuesday, March 12th here on my blog. I’m sure it will be a week of wonderful inspiration and good ideas.
We are supposed to get several inches of snow over the next couple of days. I guess Spring is farther away than I had hoped. Thanks for stopping by!
