Hello October! Oh my gosh it is cold here in Ohio today…there is a definite chill in the air and the leaves are turning. Like many of you, October is one of my very favorite months. When my kids were small, every year about this time I would start thinking about Halloween costumes. I almost always made them. I would think, plan and think some more. I made everything from a white cat suit to a Ninja warrior! In between there were bunnies, clowns, a lion, a butterfly and Laura Ingalls…just to name a few. The only time I bought costumes (that I remember) was the year my daughter was a Notre Dame cheerleader and my son was a football player. Here they are…circa 1990. (Aren’t they cute?)
I used to decorate for Halloween but in recent years have sort of skipped right over it. I decorate for Fall and leave it up until Thanksgiving. This year, for some reason, I wanted to do something specifically for Halloween. So I switched over the golds on my bookshelves to orange…and I made a chalkboard printable.
I’ve never done a chalkboard printable and I was pretty happy with the way it turned out. I picked up a frame at Hobby Lobby and I think it’s the perfect touch of Halloween for our empty nest.
I hope your October is off to a great start. I have made up my mind that I’m going to enjoy every, single, perfect fall day that God blesses us with. I hope you do the same. Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Cute as ever Ann, Im going to share it on my FB page Tuesday morning :)
Yes,same here, sometimes when i am lucky i see my grandkids in their costumes for 5 min.But i know they are busy so,it is all right. Love the printable, have a great day.
The Halloween printable is great, Ann. So cute. Seeing the pictures of your adorable kids makes me think of my little ones, all grown up now, and the costumes I made for them. We got a lot of mileage from a black and white clown costume – both kids used it, and my daughter wore it for 5 years in a row! Good thing it was roomy…..
Thanks for the printable! It’s delightful.
We’ve had a week of 100+ degree weather (my teenagers are all going to the beach). However, I have made a vow not to complain and just enjoy the “fall” weather – whatever it is! :)
Best,

You did a marvelous job on your printable! It’s the perfect Halloween touch for those of us who aren’t into the creepy, scary side of things. :-)
I love the picture of your kids! I have a very similar picture of my little redheads years ago in Husker gear. What sweet memories! Have a wonderful rest of the weekend!
