Pumpkin Puff Pastry Turnovers from On Sutton Place

1.) I’m ready for some new clothes! I looked at my things from last fall, and everything looks tired and faded. I do all of my shopping online, so I’ve been looking around. I love this black and white long cardigan from Talbots, and this khaki jacket. I ordered this tunic, and this pullover. Now all we need are some cooler temps!

2.) FAVORITE QUOTE: “We cannot force someone to hear a message they are not ready to receive, but we must never underestimate the power of planting a seed.” ( I could not find a definite source, but I adore the quote. And it’s so true.)

3.) FAVORITE INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT: Becca from Adventures in Decorating. If you love neutral decor, with amazing seasonal touches, Becca is the girl for you. She shares all of her living spaces and includes sources. Whenever I see her home come through me feed, I instantly smile.

4.) WHAT TO WATCH: I have a confession. In addition to period dramas, I love to watch murder mysteries & crime documentaries. My favorites are the ones where a crime is committed, and then solved. I just watched Clickbait on Netflix…and from about the third episode, I was on the edge of my seat. I’ll just tell you this: the ending left me speechless!

5.) WHAT TO READ: not too long ago I saw a Facebook post where everyone was sharing their all-time favorite book. There were thousands of comments. Of course, I didn’t read them all, but it got me thinking. If I had to choose, my favorite book ever is Coming Home, by Rosamunde Pilcher. I adore all of her books, but that one is just extra special.

6.) If you have always wanted to plant a clematis, but never got around to it, now is the time. One of my favorites is called Sweet Autumn, and at the end of summer, the prettiest little white blooms appear. I just saw some beautiful plants at my local Lowe’s. Sweet Autumn is a hardy perennial vine, and thrives best in zones 5 – 9. You can read all about mine {HERE.}

7.) Have you ever wondered how to go about picking out bar stools or counter stools? I found this wonderful guide by Studio McGee. It will answer all of your questions!

8.) If you watched All Creatures Great and Small on PBS, you will be happy to know that Season 2 is on the way. They just released this sneak peak and it looks good!

9.) If you missed it, I recently shared our front porch decked out for fall, easy fall decor ideas for your living spaces, and these pumpkin pie turnovers.

10.) It’s finally cooled off here in Ohio, and that cooped-up feeling I had is completely gone. Fall is calling…

1). Once Labor Day is behind us I’m in fall mode until the beginning of November! I love fall! Here’s how to decorate a fall dough bowl or any bowl with step-by-step instructions and lots of pictures! This is my all-time favorite arrangement! And here’s my pick this year for decorating your home with fall essentials.

2). We just got back from a fabulously fun camping trip to upper New York state. We stayed at Letchworth State Park and it was so stunning! If you like the beauty of nature this is a place to check out.

3). I read a good book on our camping trip called The Dutch House by Ann Patchett. If you like a saga about family relationships you may like this one! Here are a few more books I loved … The Alice Network by Alice Quinn Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate, and Ordinary Grace by William Kent Krueger.

4). I’m thinking of changing my foyer a bit between now and Christmas. And I am looking for a gorgeous mirror to go above a foyer table. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this mirror (huge crush)and this one, this one, this one, and this one.

5). Here are a few foyer tables I like to go under the mirror. This one is so pretty, and I love this color, and this long one, and this pretty one.

6). I usually keep a small measuring tape in my purse. But sometimes it goes missing (grandkids?) and when I’m out and don’t have it a dollar bills comes in handy to measure things. Did you know that a dollar bill is just a tad over 6 inches? Good to know, right?

7). I love fall food! It’s warm and aromatic and the flavors are rich! One of my favorite fall soups is this easy to make Butternut Squash Soup. YUM! I share just how easy it is to cut those funny squashes! Also try my favorite Apple Cake, and Butter Topped Beer Bread. This foodie blogger is one of my favorties!

8). My granddaughter loves unicorns. Do you know what country’s national animal is a unicorn. Answer at the bottom of my wishlist.

9). Fall can be rainy and windy and wet. Here’s great rainy day gear I have or want… this jacket (a staple), my favorite rain boots that last forever, this baseball cap, this beautiful pebble leather tote bag, and this umbrella that won’t turn inside out.

10). Now is the time to bring in your hydrangeas and dry them. They will last until well after Christmas. Here’s a comprehensive guide for drying hydrangeas. And here’s a super pretty and easy way to use your dried hydrangeas.

*Answer to #8…Scotland’s national animal is the unicorn. No wonder I love Scotland! I lived there as a child and went to a Scottish boarding school in Edinburgh. Just another little trivial tidbit!
