1.) One of my favorite late summer arrangements is simply combining hydrangeas with sunflowers. I do this every summer, and it’s the perfect way to refresh your living space!
2.) I’m working on updating my Amazon shop, so in the meantime, here are some favorite finds from the last few weeks.
3.) FAVORITE QUOTE: “No amount of anxiety makes any difference to anything that is going to happen.” ~Alan Watts
4.) See the before and after images of this Nashville condo that was transformed into a charming and welcoming home, and then tour the indoor and outdoor spaces of this colorful Nantucket cottage.
5.) THINGS FOR THE HOME:
- this handy portable picnic table
- this rustic console table that could also be a kitchen island
- this super cute houndstooth rug (just ordered it)
- this stunning neutral campaign ottoman
- this gorgeous Acacia wood bowl

6.) Do you wish that you could easily add more veggies to your diet? Try this Ultimate Veggie Sandwich that looks healthy and delicious!
7.) EASY BAKED CHICKEN: Cover a baking sheet with foil. Add chicken tenders, or chicken breasts that have been sliced in two the long way. Generously brush each piece of chicken with Ken’s Steakhouse Honey Mustard salad dressing. Add salt and pepper to taste. Chiffonade some fresh basil leaves, and sprinkle on top of the tenders. (Basil is optional.) Bake at 375 degrees F for 25 minutes, or until a meat thermometer reads 165 degrees F. Let sit a few minutes before slicing. Make extra for salads, tacos, or casseroles.
8.) Another great summer recipe is this zucchini lasagna. Replacing the pasta with zucchini in this recipe makes a delicious, easy-to-assemble, gluten-free dish for family meals.
9.) Talbot’s Sale: 25% off your entire order.
- this feminine floral lace trim top
- my favorite denim button front shirt
- these black and ivory houndstooth ankle pants
- this embroidered crewneck sweatshirt
- these cuffed everyday relaxed jeans
10.) Tomorrow marks the first day of August. Enjoy every minute!

6. EASY SUMMER CORN CHOWDER: Cook 6 slices of bacon in a Dutch Oven until crisp. Set bacon aside, leaving 2 TBS of drippings in the pot. Sautee 1/2 onion and 1/2 cup of celery until tender. Add 1 1/2 cups cubed potatoes, 1 tsp thyme, 1 bay leaf, 1/4 tsp pepper, and 2 cups of chicken stock. Simmer for about 8 minutes until the potatoes are tender. Add 3 cups of fresh corn and simmer for 2-3 minutes. Add 1 cup of milk and 1/2 cup of heavy cream to the pot, whisking it in. Let everything come to a boil and reduce to simmer for 2 minutes. Remove the bay leaf (discard). Whizz 2 cups of the soup in a blender. Add the blended chowder back into the pot. Crumble the bacon into the soup, stir, and serve. Stop back on the blog tomorrow for a Fresh Corn Salad recipe.
