5.) INSPIRATION + IDEAS: take a look at this photographer’s charming Swedish summer cottage in the woods, and if you love before and after photos, this Colonial fixer-upper will blow you away!

6.) One of my favorite websites is The Design Files, and the team features design inspiration from Australia. This quaint miner’s cottage in New South Wales retains all the details and ambience of its heritage charm, styled to perfection with paintings by local artists and handmade details.

7.) EARLY FALL FASHION FINDS:

8.) NEUTRAL LAMPS: if you are wishing for a small update to one of your spaces, an easy thing to do is replace your lamps. Going neutral will allow you to move your lamps from room to room. This creamy white glazed lamp has texture and a perfect shade, this double gourd design is a great height, and I love the silhouette of this tall, slender modern lamp. This glass lamp is stunning and comes in 3 metal finishes, and this set of 2 rattan wicker lamps will also add texture and interest.

ANSWER TO #7: Hydrangeas have allergy-safe pollen, so they make perfect gifts to those who are sensitive or allergic to flowers. The full moon tonight is called the sturgeon moon, and it is also called a blue moon and supermoon. Very rare! It’s a blue moon because it is the third full moon in a season (summer) that has four full moons. And it is a supermoon because its approach is so close to the earth. Now you know.

  1. Such a great topic for me right now. I am going to my favorite inn and spa in several weeks. I am preparing both the inside and outside for fall before I leave. That way when I arrive back home all will be done! I am a list maker, and I have two “to do” lists. The first list is for the inside, and it consists of fall cleaning, bedding and decorating. The second one I am calling my rainy day list. This one consists of all things gardening, washing and storing patio furniture, you name it. I have already had a plumber and electrician come to take care of a couple of jobs that needed doing before the winter weather hits. When each item is taken care of it’s a great feeling of accomplishment when I cross it off the list. I recently suddenly lost my wonderful husband. We were a team in all things, and it helps me cope by keeping busy. It’s also my way of honoring him.
