9. WHAT’S INSPIRING ME AROUND THE WEB: These warm and inviting entryways with patterned flooring, this beautiful tutorial of open shelf styling, and this wonderful use of fall colors in very sophisticated ways.

3.) FAVORITE QUOTE: “Do something. If it works, do more of it. If it doesn’t, do something else.” ~Franklin Roosevelt

5.) GOOD MOVIE: I just watched a movie starring Anthony Hopkins called One Life. It is such a wonderful story, and it has a heartwarming ending. Highly recommend! It’s streaming now on Paramount+.

6.) CHRISTMAS FINDS TO BUY NOW:

7.) There are many things I miss about our house on Sutton Place, and one of those things is the stairway. If you need stylish ideas to upgrade your entry this season, look no further!

8.) THE SIMPLEST MEATLOAF EVER FOR SANDWICHES: Add 2/3 cup milk into a measuring cup. To the milk, add one-and-a-half hamburger buns broken into small pieces. (Or you can use bread.) Let the bread soak in the milk. In a large bowl, mix together 1.5 lb. ground beef, 1 egg, 2 to 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, the milk-soaked bread, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon pepper. (I use my clean hands to mix.) Place mixture in an 8 x 8 inch baking dish. Press it down into an even layer. Bake at 375 degrees F for 30 minutes. Let sit 5 minutes before cutting.

9.) Thanksgiving Day PSA: Let’s talk Thanksgiving Day gravy. Over the years, I have tried many different methods…from simply buying it at the grocery, to making it from scratch with turkey drippings. The best gravy I ever made was a few years ago, and I followed this recipe. It’s a five minute video that’s been viewed more than a million times…and it tells you exactly what to do. And it’s amazing.

10.) November is just about here…are you ready? If not, no worries. We’ll get everything accomplished together. XO

Sprinkle with 1/2 tsp ginger, 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp pepper and toss to combine. Put the carrots and onion on a rimmed baking sheet along with halved garlic bulb, drizzling with olive oil, and roast for 15-25 minutes until soft. Set aside. In a Dutch oven, bring 4 cups of vegetable (or chicken) stock to a boil. Turn off the heat. Add 1-15 oz can of pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling) and stir to combine. Add carrots, 4 squeezed-out garlic cloves, and 2 TBS lemon juice. Blend with an emersion blender or in a regular blender in batches. Put everything back into the Dutch oven, salt and pepper to taste and heat. Eat and serve with a dollop of sour cream, creme fraiche, roasted pepitas, or micro greens.

  1. Yvonne, I just received my Silver Bell pic from Target. Absolutely darling. I also purchased the double pack of antique looking sleighs. Target has sticked some fun new things with great prices.

Those tall candle holders surrounded by all the decor are a fire hazard. All it would take is a kid grabbing one, or a cat up there knocking a lighted candle over and the whole house goes “Poof” too much dried leaves and polyester decorations are the leading cause of holiday fires.

    1. Use battery operated candles.

  3. This week’s post is so full of ideas, and tidbits, I’ll have to return again and again.

This weekly post, makes Wednesday my favorite morning of the week. I wake up at 5:00 am to drink my coffee and come to myself before the household arises. Since my father went into assisted living, I have been redoing the primary bed, bath and walk in closet. You three blogger ladies have given me ideas, inspiration and at times hope I’d have strength to complete the task.

Today’s post is a “comeback” post, I’m already looking forward to diving deeper several times in the future.

    Thank you for the posts.
