5. WHAT’S INSPIRING ME AROUND THE WEB: Here’s the perfect representation of a rustic modern living room, a more updated take on both farmhouse and French. This room has a similar look but with just a bit of a spring infusion, yet equally rustic. And rounding out the entire package is this modern rustic kitchen.

10. UP NEXT: A house tour comprised of my very favorite rooms!

Ann | On Sutton Place

polywood braxton table and chairs

1.) I’m beginning to think about our outdoor spaces, and just exactly what I want to do with them. The honest truth is I’m not sure! I loved our patio at the house on Sutton Place, and the white Polywood table and chairs we got last summer look great on our new patio. So that’s a good starting point. We’re getting a white picket fence to contain our new little puppy, which should work well with the table and chairs. It’s a small space, so I’ll plant herbs in a pot, with some colorful annuals. I’m ready! P.S. Here is our Sutton Place patio right after it was installed. It features black furniture and planters for a completely different look.

2.) RANDOM LINKS TO THINGS I LOVE: I love these metal arrow bookends, but this set is my favorite and should arrive any day! This colorful doormat just shouts “spring,” and this one is darling too. I just ordered this set of kitchen towels for a wedding shower gift…they are thick, lovely, and are available in several colors. I think this neutral outdoor seating set is great for a smaller space, and this wood bowl from Hearth & Hand would be perfect no matter what your style.

3.) INSPIRING SPACES: I adore this light blue home office, this seaside home literally took my breath away, here’s another home office with super cute wallpaper, and this coastal den project has an amazing before and after!

4.) WHAT I’M WATCHING RIGHT NOW: Season 2 of The Home Edit on Netflix…Julia on HBO. (All about Julia Child. It’s so entertaining and funny.) I finished The Dropout on Hulu and Season 2 of Bridgerton on Netflix. Coming soon to Netflix: a documentary on the rise and fall of Abercrombie & Fitch. If you have thirty-something kids, I bet you spent some time in one of their stores…loud music and all!

5.) FAVORITE QUOTE: “I told my friend that I’m emotionally hitting a wall and she said Sometimes walls are there so we can lean on them and rest. I can’t even begin to express how much I needed to hear that.” ~From

6.) I have wanted to change my facial products for a while, but wasn’t sure what route to go. I decided to try the Neutrogena Hydro Boost line after seeing an ad featuring Jennifer Garner. I am using this cleanser, this gel moisturizer, and this lightweight serum. So far I really love all three products. They are reasonably priced, very easy to apply, and they feel wonderful.

7.) YOUR FAVORITE LINKS FROM THE LAST FEW WEEKS: this beautiful off-white cast iron dutch oven, this cozy Studio McGee quilt, these adorable nesting bowls, and this super functional white wicker serving tray.

8.) I’m on my way home from visiting with my son’s family…and I really enjoyed every minute. On the second day of my visit, I twisted my back out. For a few days after that, I wasn’t sure I was going to make it home! But it’s much better, and hopefully it will continue to improve. Our puppy comes home on Monday, so stay tuned for an update on that!

9.) I know it’s last minute, but if you need inspiration for your Easter dinner, just pick up a spiral sliced ham. Then make these Delmonico Potatoes, and maybe this old-fashioned Jello salad, appropriately called Orange Fluff. For dessert, here’s a delicious recipe for chocolate pudding cake that is so simple and moist. Everything can be made the day before…that way you can enjoy yourself on Easter Sunday.

10.) That’s it for this week…have a lovely weekend everyone!

Yvonne | StoneGable

1). I’m a seasonal cook. So, I’m putting lots of my soups and stews on the back burner (pun intended) to make room for delicious recipes with lighter flavors ready at our local farmers’ market. Here are two of my favorite asparagus recipes: perfectly roasted asparagus, and asparagus in puff pastry. And here’s an asparagus tip: remember to save all the woody ends of asparagus and freeze them to make asparagus cheese soup. Yum!

2. Spring is the time to freshen up our homes! So let’s chat about paint. Nothing is quicker for giving a room a fresh start! I have a series all about paint. 7. FUN FACTS: How many flowers are there really in one sunflower? How many chocolate Easter bunnies are made every year?

8. When my hair looks like it needs a little help I give it a homemade hot oil treatment. I warm up about 1/4 cup of olive oil in the microwave (warm and not hot). Then I wet my hair, towel dry it, pour the olive oil over my hair, and massage the oil into my scalp. I put a gallon plastic bag over my hair and wrap a towel over the bag. I usually leave the oil on for about an hour or two. Then I wash my hair very well and condition it as usual. Just don’t do any of this in a shower. Slipping issues! This is best done over a kitchen sink. My hair looks and feels better for weeks!
