1. FALL HARVEST SHOPS: Have you visited the StoneGable Fall Harvest Shops yet? If you like StoneGable’s style then I think you will love the shops! Find the prettiest fall pillows, throws, lanterns, wreaths, doormats, foliage, bowls, dough bowls, baskets, linen, tableware and more! Get what you need for fall or just “window shop” for fall decorating ideas!

2. A GREAT IDEA: It’s a great idea to have a “signature” dish you can take to any get-together! This is something that is a big crowd pleaser and should be super easy to make. In the fall I usually make my very popular Raw Apple Cake. Everyone loves this recipe! And here’s another “signature dish”, Arugula Salad with Parmesan, Pinenuts, and Lemon Vinaigrette that is very popular. But the most requested dish by far is my Nani’s Potato Salad. It’s more time-consuming but it is so worth it!

3. EASY FALL ENTERTAINING: It’s almost September and that means fall will be in full swing soon. Now is the time to plan an easy fall get-together like a Fall Harvest Soup Buffet. I have three rules when entertaining, make it easy, make it easy and make it easy! Ask everyone to pitch in and bring something! And let everyone serve themselves! I love a soup buffet because I can make a big pot of delicious soup like Italian Tortellini Soup With Sausage And Spinach, or Roasted Butternut Squash Soup that feeds a crowd. Invite a few of your favorite people over to celebrate fall!

4. FABULOUS FINDS THIS WEEK:

UNDER $50- this trio of earth tone and glass candleholders, this topiary, this clove and black currant candle , this creamy cast iron dutch oven, “hello pumpkin” fall doormat,

$50-$100- this pretty mirror, this round end/accent table, this attractive white enamel tea kettle, these European breadboards (I have three), this unique goldtone ottoman tray, and a trio of thin brass candlesticks.

$100-$200- this beautiful blue and white table lamp, this trellis motif rug, this stunning bleached leaf wreath, this handwoven dog bed, and this wall-mounted organizer and pinboard.

WORTH THE SPLURGE- this handsome rustic dresser, this tufted upholstered headboard, this authentic dough bowl, this fall garden urn filler, and these burlap and nailhead bulletin boards.

5. HOME TOURS: This is a beautiful New York Home. I especially love this home! This is one of my favorite Influencers. She is ovder 50 and so so fabulous! See her home and more HERE. This Northern Virginia home is glamorous and eclectic!

6. TAKE AWAYS FROM THE HOME TOUR: Green is a color of energy, I love the unmatched but coordinated end tables. “Make your home a lovely place to be and you don’t need to always go out”, such wise words! Oh, my goodness I saw a pillow chop! Yay! The mismatched chairs around the kitchen table are so charmning and cozy!

7. WHAT TO WEAR: I’ve sorta got that Steve Job’s wardrobe thing going on when I work here at home. But I do shower, do my hair and makeup and smell good unlike Mr. Jobs! If you come to my door I will probably meet you a long sleeve teeankle length jeans, these walking shoes, and earrings like these. When I’m out the door here’s my go-to handbag (in black) and sunglasses.

8. AN ANSWER TO ONE OF THE WORLDS QUANDRIES: Are you ever stuck with overripe bananas? What do we do with them? Here are two delicious ways to use them, STREUSEL TOPPED BANANA BREAD, and MAPLE GLAZED BANANA BREAD SCONE. Both are easy to make and so yummy! If you are not a banana lover, try PUMPKIN SPICE BUNDT CAKE from a box mix! It also has a delicious maple glaze.

9. FUN AND INTERESTING FACTS: What lucky state has a hydrangea as it’s state flower? What is a bee’s favorite color?

10. READER’S FAVORITES: this tartan throw in beautiful fall colors, this rug for under a doormat, these dried gourds, this charcuterie board, this lantern, and this coffee table tray.

Answer to #9: Alabama’s state flower is the hydrangea! Bees favor flowers that are blue!

2. Did any of you notice my blog looks different? Last week, I spent some time redesigning the home page to make it easier to find things and feature the posts that are most popular. Take a peek if you’d like to see it and let me know if there’s anything that’s confusing or difficult to navigate.

3. CURRENT DECOR CRUSHES:

UNDER $100: This rattan basket in the perfect color and texture, this elegant antique bronze tray, this handcrafted terracotta planter (the 13″ size), and this French mason jar vase (medium size).

UNDER $250: This gorgeous European brass spice mill (comes as a pair), these vintage framed French botanicals, my favorite flax linen comforter, this awesome terra cotta lamp (small), and this framed pampas shadow box wall art.

4. One of the questions I’m most often asked is what colors our walls are painted. In this post I summarize all of our paint colors, both when we first moved in, as well as those rooms I’ve since updated.

5. FASHION PICKS: I finished my quest for layered necklaces and now I’m working on bracelets. I’m loving this ID bracelet, these beaded bracelets in a few sizes, these labradorite bracelets, and this paper clip chain bracelet.

6. WHAT’S INSPIRING ME AROUND THE WEB: I’m loving how this elegant bathroom combines white marble with light wood and black hardware. This gorgeous kitchen has a similar mix of vintage with modern. This delightful loft bedroom is both romantic and serene.

7. FURNITURE DEALS: This cozy farmhouse swivel chair, this marble and ash wood modern coastal end table, this chic raw wood and iron console table, this terrific white oak dresser with bin pulls and this natural woven rattan club chair,.

8. THIS WEEK ON THE BLOG I shared this living room refresh with autumn decor, this patio transitioning to fall decor and this tablescape decorated with soft fall color (one of my all time favorite tables).

9. FEATURED SHOP: You may have spotted a few pieces above from a new shop I’ve never to linked to before. This is a new discovery for me and a shop I absolutely love, so be sure to check out Meridian decor. They have vintage pieces, as well as handcrafted items with a global aesthetic. You’ll find things for the kitchen, various textiles and creative gift ideas. Enjoy!

10. UP NEXT: September is fast approaching and I’ll be adding a few decorating touches to the kitchen to celebrate the month…

2.) FAVORITE QUOTE: “You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.” ~Bob Marley

3.) Do you have an electric tea kettle? This is mine, and I love it. It was a Christmas gift a year or so ago. It’s just about hot tea season, so here are some other good choices. This one has the look of a SMEG, but is less expensive. This sleek beauty from Cuisinart has over 14,000 reviews, and is very close to a 5-star rating. I love the spout on this one, and it has a full 5-star rating and over 10,000 reviews. If you just aren’t sure, and don’t want to sink in a bunch of money, go for this cute option. It has over 30,000 reviews and comes in 5 very fun colors.

4.) INSPIRING PLACES: this beautiful home is the perfect combination of modern and traditional, this bright, white, and functional kitchen has the most amazing baking corner, the minute I saw the range in this kitchen, I fell in love, and this home tour will be sure to put you in the mood for fall!

5.) BEST RECENT AMAZON PURCHASES: in an effort to reduce the amount of time I spend sitting, I got this mobile laptop workstation. I’m still getting used to it, but I think it’s going to be a very good thing. I ordered these cute Keds mules, and absolutely love them. They are comfortable and just a bit dressier than my Adidas! With our kids coming and going, I needed more bed pillows. This set of down pillows is amazing, and a very good price. I have, for quite a while, needed a large non-stick skillet. I finally ordered this one from Cuisinart, and it’s definitely a keeper. It’s lightweight, and cleans up nicely. Some large skillets are very expensive, and this one is on the lower end of that spectrum…but so far so good. Last, I got this puzzle for my grandson, and this one for my granddaughter. They are well made and very fun!

6.) NEW ON THE BLOG: The Ultimate Guide to Celebrating Fall. Over 100 ideas to help you welcome autumn…including decor, wreaths, crafts, recipes, and more. I also updated two more recipes: this so yummy and moist pumpkin bread, and this recipe for applesauce bread.

7.) I’ve told you all before that I love to spend a few minutes of downtime looking at YouTube. I recently came across two very promising recipes. This lemon garlic shrimp pasta looks absolutely amazing, and I can’t wait to try it. Also, this creamy mushroom sauce recipe seems super simple, and had my mouth watering!

8.) COMING SOON: I am really excited about my latest printable wall art and gift tag collection. I made some of the graphics myself, and it was so much fun learning the process. I’m sending the whole collection out on Sunday to my email subscribers. If you aren’t on my list, click HERE to join us!

9.) That’s all I have for this week. Even though I am knee-deep in preparing for fall, I am still determined to savor these last days of summer. I hope you do the same. ♥

Sorry, but I have to correct something in Yvonne’s post. The state flower of Alabama is the camellia, not the hydrangea.

  4. I Love Fall!! Great inspirations and recipes!!
