Ingredients

Lavender Simple Syrup

  • 3/4 cup Sugar
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1-2 tablespoons culinary grade dried lavender buds

Lemonade

  • 7.5 oz. bottle Minute Maid Pure Lemon Juice from Concentrate (found in the freezer section with the juice)
  • OR 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 6 large lemons)
  • lavender simple syrup
  • 4-5 cups cold water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • fresh lemon slices

Instructions

  • To make the lavender simple syrup: Combine sugar, water, and lavender buds in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and let steep for 1 - 2 hours. Using a fine strainer, pour the syrup into an airtight container. Discard the lavender buds. Keeps in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
  • To make the lemonade: In a large pitcher, combine the lemon juice, lavender simple syrup, vanilla, and 4 to 5 cups cold water. Stir and chill. Serve with fresh lemon slices. (Begin with 4 cups water and taste. If it's too strong, add another cup of water.)
