Starbucks Chocolate Cinnamon Bread

Ingredients

  • 3 sticks unsalted butter at room temperature
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 5 large eggs at room temperature
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 1 ¼ cup dutch processed cocoa (or regular cocoa)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon Baking Powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Topping

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ teaspoon Cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon dutch processed cocoa (or regular cocoa)
  • Pinch of ground ginger
  • Pinch of ground cloves
  • ¼ cup sparkle sugar for decorating

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In the bowl of a standing mixer, beat butter and sugar for 2 minutes.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well between additions.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa, cinnamon, salt, baking powder and baking soda.
  • In a 2 c. measuring cup combine buttermilk, water and vanilla. Stir to mix.
  • Add dry ingredients to butter/sugar/eggs alternating with buttermilk mixture.
  • Scrape sides and bottom of the mixing bowl at least twice.
  • Pour into prepared loaf pans.
  • Sprinkle topping over batter.

Bake time

  • mini loaves 25 min.
  • small loaves 35 min.
  • large loaves 45-50 min.

Notes

Pan measurements:
mini = 2 1/2 in. x 4 in.
small = 3 in. x 5 1/2 in.
large = 9 in. x 5 in.
I got 4 small loaves and 6 mini loaves from this recipe.
