Chocolate Mint Brownies

A green mint layer in the middle make these chocolate mint brownies both yummy and festive! An easy make-ahead dessert that's perfect for the holidays!

Ingredients

Brownie layer

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 4 eggs
  • 16 oz. can chocolate syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup flour

Mint Layer

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 2-3 drops green food coloring
  • 1 - 2 Tablespoon milk

Glaze

  • 6 Tablespoons butter
  • 6 oz. package chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare 9 x 13 pan with non-stick spray.
  • Cream butter and sugar.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well between additions.
  • Add syrup, salt and flour.
  • Mix well and pour into prepared pan.
  • Bake for 30 min.
  • Cool.
  • Mix all ingredients for the mint layer and spread onto cooled brownies.
  • Put 6 T. butter and chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl.
  • Cook in microwave on high for 1 min.
  • Stir well until it is melted and combined. Cool slightly.
  • Spread over mint layer.
  • May be refrigerated and served cold.
