A shopping guide for some of my favorite things, kitchen items, clothing for 50+ women, and personal finds that I love!
Welcome to the 10th anniversary of My Favorite Things, hosted by Melissa from 320 Sycamore. She’s been doing this party for 10 years, and I haven’t participated for a while, so I’m very glad to back! I’ve gathered together as many things as I could think of that I own and love. I also varied the selection and included kitchen items, personal things, clothing, and some decor. So let’s shop!

Minnetonka Chesney Scuff Slippers
These are the best slippers. Ever. I bought them last year at T.J. Maxx and literally wore them everyday. A few months ago, I spilled Gorilla glue on them, so I bought a second pair. I don’t think I could live without them now! They run a little big, so if you are a half size, order down. I wear a 9 1/2, and the 9 fits perfectly.
Next is the red and white Sugar Paper twine from Target. I am quite a twine snob, and this is the best I’ve ever found. It’s thick, and ties the most beautiful bows. It also comes in black & white, and gray & white. Last year I only bought one spool and quickly ran out, so this year I bought four!

I discovered these cutting boards and knives last month while I was staying with my son’s in-laws. I loved using them so much that I ordered them for myself before I even got home!
Aztec Secret Face & Body Mask
Face Mask Brush Set
This face mask has more than 18,000 reviews on Amazon and has slightly under a 5 star rating. My daughter-in-law told me about it and after the first time I used it, I was hooked!
Here are some tips: the first time I used it, I felt like it took a long time. With each additional use, I got better at measuring and mixing, and now it’s very quick. Use a small glass or plastic bowl and mix with the face mask brush. The directions say you can mix the powder with water or apple cider vinegar, but I always use ACV. (Which by the way, makes a great toner too. I’ll be sharing all about that after the holidays!) I don’t have sensitive skin, and I leave the mask on for 15 minutes. I love the way it makes my skin feel, and the fine lines around my mouth are getting less noticeable.
The ratio I use is 1 tablespoon powder to 1 tablespoon ACV. Add more of either to get the consistency you want.
I’ve talked in the past about my favorites at J.Jill, and there are quite a few. At the top of the list are the pima ankle leggings. If you have never tried them, you are missing out! Use the code NOVEMBER for 30% off and free shipping!
About a year ago, I completely updated what used to be my daughter’s bedroom, and then my sewing room. The room was a disaster, and a huge project. I hope to share the finished space sometime next year. I adore the chair I bought for the corner. It’s a neutral beige with tiny specks of gray. It’s sturdy and very comfortable. It is, in my opinion, the perfect, reasonably priced side chair. I paired it with another ceramic stool that matches the one in my living room. That way, if I ever want two, I have a matching set. I also included the little milkmaid pitcher from Farmhouse Pottery. It’s something I would never buy myself, but receiving it as a gift was such a treat. Just thought I would share before you start your Christmas list! (Wall color is Sherwin Williams Repose Gray.)

I haven’t talked about these rugs too much, but I am obsessed. We have six, in different colors and patterns, and I love them. We have the beige/ivory in our living room, dining room, and one bedroom. We have two navy patterns in our family room, and a gray rug in a guest bedroom. The patterns all mix and match beautifully. They have worn extremely well, even with a dog. If you have been thinking about new area rugs, I promise you won’t be disappointed. Click the small images or the text links below to go directly to that rug.
Now it’s time to send you to the next stop on the tour, my friend Diane, from In My Own Style. Happy shopping!
