In this post: Christmas Decor Ideas & Home Tour. Simple and budget-friendly ways to decorate for Christmas. Inspiration for porches, entries and living spaces.
Well…the last weekend before Christmas is almost over. I know you all are hustling and bustling to get everything finished. There have been years around here where I wasn’t sure it would all get done…but somehow it always does. At least the important things. In recent years I have simplified where I could without giving up family traditions. My Christmas decor is easy to put up and even easier to put away. I went with a table top tree a few years ago because I couldn’t get our big one up the basement stairs. Today I’m sharing a Christmas Home Tour, but a mini, simplified version. I didn’t do much in my kitchen so I’m leaving that room out. I hope you see an idea or two you can use next year…or perhaps this year if you haven’t decorated yet. (There is still time!) I’ve listed sources at the end, so take a look and I’ll see you there!

You wouldn’t know it by looking at her, but Kelly is excited for Christmas to get here! She loves it when we are all together…almost as much as I do. I’ll have all of my family here for a few days and I can hardly wait. I wish I could make time slow down because I know it will go by quickly. I hope to be back one more time before Christmas so I’ll see you then…

Beautiful. Next year I may have to copy your idea of adding greenery around the china and in the creamer pot.

Dear Ann,
Your home looks inviting, comfortable and festive. Wishing you and your family a wonderful Christmas.
Just beautiful!!
Luv the pine cones and red berries in the white enamelware bowl on the porch.
Happy Christmas to you and yours Ann.
So many wonderful ideas, your home looks beautiful. Tomorrow I’m definitely going to make the ginger cookies.
I meant to say lemon ginger scones and lemon biscuits :)
I love all that you do! Thank you so much for a wonderful year of great ideas!
Merry Christmas!
Just wanted to share with you ,that you have inspired me so much for Christmas . I loved your red pitichers on your stairs. I went to Home Goods. Because I was looking for something to go with the silver/ nickel bowl I purchased for the center piece. And they had some red emanel pieces. I fell in love with the coffee pot so I was able to purchase two ,and they are on my dinner table either side of my silver bowl.my I posted a photo on my Instagram plkmrose
Thank you so much

Everything is just beautiful as always. I have learned so much from you and now my daughter is starting to appreciate all my decorating also. Love the ladder in your living room, any chance you remember where you got this?
Thanks and have a wonderful time with your family. God bless you and keep you!!
Lovely, just lovely. I am busy baking and cooking. I hope my daughter will be able to enjoy everything. She will be here Christmas Day and will begin radiation right after. I want everything to be perfect!
I love the cohesive theme of buffalo plaid and boxwood. Perfection!
Even though you said you simplified…it still all looks lovely! I can’t lift our full tree anymore…I was thinking of getting a smaller tree. Anything to simplify! Hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas! ;)
Donnamae definitely go with the smaller tree. It’s just as festive and so much easier!
Everything looks lovely, did i miss you changing out the covers of your dining room chairs? I know i was gone some but they look nice and i like your sofa cover too. I can’t wait to see a complete tour, no telling what i have missed. Have a Merry Christmas with your family.
Your home is always so welcoming and beautifully decorated! Love the red plaid. But especially love the jingle bell monogram silverware settings. Merry Christmas. Enjoy your family.
My goodness- I just love all the tour! The ideas are so lovely especially because they are not over the top, but have a subtle touch of elegance. Love-love-love.
I am not a frilly kind of girl, so the plaids are such a great idea for me. I love the silverware touch, as well as the decorated lanterns. I saved your pictures because I am definitely using your ideas for the new year. Thank you so much! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Hi Ann, Your home looks very pretty with the pops of red this year. I used red this year too and love it for Christmas time. Have a wonderfully blessed Christmas with your family.
Blessings, Pam
Beautiful decorating, beautiful home. Merry Christmas and all of God’s Blessings for a Happy healthy New Year!
Everything looks so beautiful and really looks a lot like Christmas. It is so warm and inviting and not at all over done. Everything you do is so tasteful and elegant.
I’m getting ready to bake your snickerdoodle bread and your eggnog bread, wish me luck, I’m not the best baker in the world, but these looked easy enough that even I could do it. Then I will bake my stand-by’s pecan cream cheese pie and a pumpkin pie. Then I am done until Christmas eve when I will start my Christmas dinner.
Kelly just looks so sweet, bet she is a good girl. My little guy knows something is going on, but of course he doesn’t know just what it is and he will be so excited and animated when the kids get here and so will we.
I always love how you decorate your home through the years since I found your blog. Love the richness of the reds with the plaid. Always nice to see Kelly:)

I really like your idea of the wreath on the lamp. With life being so busy, simple decorations are the way to go. They perk up the space and it is easier on you.
Everything looks fantastic Ann, so put together:) XO Merry Christmas!
I loved the simplicity of your holiday decor this year, Ann. I tend to be a minimalist and this year’s decor fell right into my taste. I love traditional, but with clean contemporary lines and you really nailed it for me! Thanks for all your sharing. Happy holidays!
Loved the tour! You have such a beautiful home and I loved seeing it all festive for Christmas. The little wreaths are so adorable and I love the buffalo plaid and all the white on the shelf mixed in with the greens. So many inspirational ideas! Have a Merry Christmas!

What a beautiful home Ann.
Love your dining room – everything about it say sit and stay awhile.
Have a wonderful Christmas holiday and a Happy and healthy New Year.
Much love,

Ann, your home looks lovely and ready to celebrate the season with your family. Merry Christmas!
I just love the subtle touches that you use…the small wreath hanging on the lamp…and the way the ribbon is used to hold it in place. Love the mason jar filled just halfway with water so the berries are a focal point in the jar…and lastly, thanks for sharing your front porch formula! It has carried me through several seasons now. Merry Christmas to you and your family! Enjoy the week!
Love how you decorate. Everything has such a clean…go together feel. A wonderful blog. Thank you so much for all your inspirations!
