Welcome to 20 Minute Decorating, where we share ideas for easy home decor that you can do in no time at all! Our normal crew has changed just a bit, and we are welcoming Diane Henkler, from In My Own Style. I have know Diane for many years, and we are so happy she is joining us. Today I’m sharing what might be the easiest centerpiece I’ve ever put together. I decided to use what I already had, and it turned out to be lovely.

A few days ago, I made a chicken recipe that called for Meyer lemons. Lemons are beautiful anyway, and I was able to get some Meyer lemons that were perfectly shaped, and their color was lovely. I also picked up a bunch of fern-like greenery, and other than a cake plate, the lemons were the only other thing I needed to make this Meyer lemon centerpiece.

This centerpiece idea can be used with any sort of plate, tray, or basket. Any type of greenery can be used as well…and you guessed it, any kind of fruit. Simply lay the greenery down, and pile up the fruit. I placed this centerpiece, layered on a fabric runner, on our dining room table. It would also be perfect for a kitchen island or counter top.

I know this little centerpiece is extremely simple…in fact, no tutorial is even needed. Right now, a complicated or time consuming project is the last thing anybody needs. For the next few weeks, I will definitely keep that in mind, and share ideas that won’t overwhelm us or wear us out. I want you to be able to come here for a breather, and a break.

Now it’s time to send you along to visit the other 20 Minute Decorating ideas. Enjoy!

This centerpiece of fresh lemons is just what I needed at the end of this busy, emotional day.
I am a kindergarten teacher in a private school in Ontario, Canada. We are teaching on-line with virtual classrooms. It has it’s challenges, mostly missing seeing those little faces in person.
It really hit me today, but then I opened up your site, my favourite of all, and saw those sunny lemons.
    Thank you so much.
    Stay safe.

  2. MARY-ANN (FROM CANADA!) says:

Love your lemon centrepiece, Ann! It’s so cheery! I can just imagine how nice it smells when you enter your Dining Room! Thanks for sharing with us!

  3. I love your blog and often share it. The beautiful flowers and bright lemons in this post are especially cheery and uplifting right now.

  4. Hi Ann!
I hope you and your family are safe and well. I can’t think of anything more cheerful than a pop of yellow in spring decor! Whether a bouquet of daffodils, tulips or a bowl of bright lemons, yellow just sparks joy! And bonus to lemons is using in tea or cooking or adding a fresh punch to cleaning! Love your ideas! Thank you and be well!

  5. Always love using fruit in decor- this is beautiful.

  6. Fantastic Post from everyone. I so enjoyed every one and I am going to try them all. I so appreciate the lovely. Ideas. A bright spot for all of us.
    Thanks to all of you.

  7. Your lemon centerpiece is beautiful, cheerful, and a wonderful idea. I just added a bag of Granny Smith apples to my grocery pickup order so I can do something like this with them. Thanks for sharing something simple and beautiful. Hope you and your family are doing well!

  8. Cecilia from Georgia says:

Thanks Ann! I am not a faux flower or fruit person but I found these apples and lemons a few years ago and they are so real looking. I love your idea of just the lemons on the white pedestal compote with greenery. Be safe and stay healthy.

  9. Thank you Ann for a burst of sunshine on a rainy day in Columbus.
    xoxo, Mary

  10. Ann,
Thank you for such an easy idea. I happen to have a bag of lemons in my frig. I was trying to think of ways to use them up but now can make an arrangement of bright yellow and bring on the Happy!! Keep up inspiring us with your posts

Just beautiful, Ann! When Lory sent the code for today, I actually sighed when I saw your arrangement. So so pretty my friend!
