Welcome to my Christmas Home Tour for 2016! This year, more than ever, I’ve tried to focus on simple Christmas decor ideas. Ideas that perhaps made use of things you already had and that were affordable. I hope along the way you were inspired to add some Christmas cheer to your home…and at the same time enjoy the process.

This post is heavy on pictures, so to help matters, I included just two images of the rooms that I’ve already shared. There are also links to the specific posts so if you missed one, you can catch up. I’ll keep my chatter to a minimum so you can relax and enjoy the tour.

  9. Ann! Your “holiday home” is stunning. I’ve enjoyed following along as you have taken us from one beautifully decorated space to another. Your home looks totally Christmas-y but in an unfettered and natural way. Using nature as the theme for your Christmas decor feels so fresh and new. I love the basket on your coffee table as a tray to hold greens and pinecones brightened up by your hurricane glass filled with shiny red balls. I’ve saved all of the the posts featuring your holiday home decorating; you’ve done so many things I’d love to try next year. By the way, I don’t know HOW, as long as I have followed your blog… I’ve missed Kelly! She is adorable! I’ve been a miniature schnauzer lover since the first time I met one! I’ve had three of them over the years and I loved them like my kids. We lost our last sweetie pie a couple of years ago. I thought we would get another soon after “Bart” got his wings. For some reason, we decided to put a new one on hold for awhile. Just last week, I told my husband I was missing the “clicky” sound on our hardwood floors, he raised an eyebrow at me and told me I should think about how much I REALLY missed it! Merry Christmas Ann! Merry Christmas Kelly!

  10. Laura Poulter says:

Do u know of some wholesalers in your area

    1. Ann Drake says:

      Hi Laura,
No I don’t buy anything wholesale. I pay full price unless I’m lucky enough to hit a sale!

      Merry Christmas,
      Ann

  25. Your home is so charming, Ann … I love the simple, restrained and, therefore, very calming decor! Christmas shouldn’t add stress to our lives; your interiors, to me, are like “visual Valium”. Merry Christmas from Ontario, Canada!

    1. Ann Drake says:

I love the visual valium comparison! Thank you and Merry Christmas!

  26. Francis C. Moore says:

I love your Christmas decorations. I have an olive bucket which is really rusty. Did you paint yours?

    1. Ann Drake says:

No I didn’t paint them. Honestly, I love really rusty things but you could touch yours up with a little metal spray paint. Merry Christmas Francis!

  39. Oh Ann – it is all so beautiful and welcoming. Looks effortless but I could see your eye for detail in every picture.

I love the all white coverlets on your guest room beds. Do you recall where you found them?
Trying to update my master bedroom bedding just so frustrated with what is out there. I think a solid foundation is the way to go and add a pattern.

    1. Ann Drake says:

Hi June! The coverlet set is available on overstock.com. Here is my affiliate link:

  40. Kathleen G says:

Awww Kelly, our loving pets do bring us a ray of sunshine during the darkest of days:). I like the saturated red of the Christmas ornaments, especially in the lanterns (even the berries surrounding the white candles too). I’m very inspired with your traditional colors, very warm and welcoming. I always enjoy visiting your beautiful Christmas home Ann,

  49. Ann, I have always enjoyed seeing your home decked out for Christmas. It has never disappointed, but I will have to say, this is probably the loveliest home I have seen in all of blog land this season. I had to look again and again. Thank you for sharing the inspiration..beautiful, warm, inviting. It exudes love and welcome. Merry Christmas! Kelly is precious and looks like she is saying, Joy To The World! I hope your family knows how blessed they are to have you!

  55. Diane Smith says:

Your home looks so lovely! Beautifully-done and very welcoming! Of all the blogs and pins out there, I would like my house to look like yours, because it looks like a HOME! I especially love that you haven’t painted all your lovely wood furniture – natural wood always makes a home feel warmer!

Your sweet Kelly is adorable. We lost our wonderful mini schnauzer, Mocha, last May. I recently adopted a new one (a rescue; 1 1/2 yrs. old; one of 56 taken from a home in Louisiana & brought to Ohio). She’s a love!

  56. Everything is so lovely. All the green with white dishes and pitchers- beautiful! And those chargers, I’m in love! I have long admired your boxwood wreaths and all the ways you place them. So this year I gave myself three. Love them! Thanks for sharing your home and Merry Christmas. Oh and Kelly is awfully cute too.l

    1. Ann Drake says:

Yay for giving yourself the wreaths Nancy!

  57. Loved the Christmas tour of your home. It is simply beautiful. Sometimes the smallest things are the most effective. The jars of red berries on your stairs make such a statement even though they are a “small” thing. Your staging and photography are amazing. I just love your decorating style and look forward to each post.

  58. Your home is beautiful, so tastefully done and very classy….thx for sharing your inspiration. I love your blog and it always brightens my day! Kelly is adorable!! I too, have a dog, a Schnoodle, who looks similar to Kelly and is always by my side as well. I loved seeing her stocking hung low on your hutch……I do the same thing! Have a very Merry Christmas !!

  59. First, as always, lovely. I so admire your ability to audit and edit your decor. Never an easy task, de-cluttering is one of the tasks I dislike. My question has been brewing for sometime and I am wondering if you can answer it. I follow a few decor blogs, all of them beautifully photographed and written. The one element that surfaces in each genre is the color choice…white. For “French Country,” “Farmhouse Country,” “mid-century modern,” ” traditional ” as well. At first I thought it was essentially a trend but blog layouts all seem to be white walls, white casegoods, white kitchens, white upholstery…with an occasional pop of color. I like it, please don’t misunderstand but I know I would be bored in a blink and it is not Black Lab friendly! How do you interpret this trend? Thank you in advance for your answer.

    1. Ann Drake says:

Hi Cheryll…thank you so much for your question. I was struggling to come up with post ideas for next month and your question has give me some inspiration. I will answer your question and give my humble opinion. Stay tuned!

  60. All pretty
not a bit of a side track from Christmas…..would you mind telling me where you purchased your sofa and chairs. I am in the market for both and had similar styles in mind. Love you blue chairs!

    1. I love that sofa too D. I am in the market for the same.

  61. Your Christmas decorations might be simple, but they are so, so, so elegant! Beautiful Christmassy home – thank you so much for sharing your home with us.

  62. Just beautiful! Merry Christmas to you and your family. I’m looking forward to your great ideas in 2017.

  63. Loved looking through your beautiful holiday decor. I really like the small Christmas tree decorated so pretty. Thanks for sharing.

  64. Colleen Howell says:

Loved all the pictures and the décor was so pretty in every room. Have an awesome Christmas!

  65. Love everything – just beautiful!!! I am amazed at how simple, yet elegant each room is. I went through each picture and to see the final picture with a dog, I chuckled!!! I blame my chaos on my dogs!!!! I will attempt to channel you in all of my future decorating endeavors. Less truly is more!! Merry Christmas to you and your family!!!

  66. Beautiful!……all of it.
