Hello…I am so glad you stopped by! Come in, sit down and make yourself comfortable. Let me show you around.
My story really begins with my home. Click here to read the story of the house On Sutton Place.
Almost 6 years ago I got a notion to start a blog focused around my home. Even though I was scared to death, I took a leap of faith and just dove in to the deep end of the big blogging ocean. Click here to read more about me and how this blog started.
I love being at home. I especially love being in my kitchen. I am a very basic cook and I enjoy making family dinners. A good place to start to see what comes out of my kitchen is Family Favorites. I also share some basic baking tips that I’ve picked up over the years. To see everything, visit the main On Sutton Place Recipe Page.
Other than my kitchen, my two favorite places to hang out are my yard and my sewing room. We’ll start with the yard. It’s come a long way since we moved in so I rounded up my ten best gardening posts on what I’ve learned. I’m a firm believer in decorating your home with things you love. Nothing makes me happier than decorating with flowers from my garden.
I love making seasonal changes to my decor and I switch things up on a regular basis. Everything is accomplished on a budget and usually involves some sort of DIY! Here are some helpful links to things I’ve shared:
Shortly after I started this blog, I opened an Etsy shop called Sutton Place Designs. I made and sold textile home furnishings from vintage fabrics, ticking and linen. After a few years on Etsy, I was ready to strike out on my own and moved to the Big Cartel platform. I stayed there for a few years and so enjoyed being a shop owner. Things in my life got busy though and about a year ago I had to give up sewing.
I didn’t want to give up designing all together so I opened a shop on Society6. I sell pillow covers, art prints, tote bags, note cards and other gift items. It’s very fun so I hope you can visit me there.
*Update: I designed a floral alphabet that’s available in an easy download to make banners, DIY wall art, framed monograms and more. Click HERE for more information.
