DIY Dollar Tree Christmas PlatesI hope you aren’t on overload from all the Christmas craftiness I’ve been sharing…because I have more where that came from! Today I want to show you how to make these DIY Dollar Tree JOY plates. This was so quick and simple that anyone can do it…I promise.

DIY Dollar Tree simple white plates with JOY decals...easy!Last winter I found a darling Etsy shop called Welcoming Walls. I wanted to make a custom address plate and found exactly what I was looking for at Candi’s shop. So for the holidays I wanted to switch the plate wall up a bit…and when I saw this JOY decal I knew exactly what I was going to do. I got three white plates from the Dollar Tree and followed the directions that came with the decal. A few minutes later it was finished!

DIY Dollar Tree JOY platesIn my quest to try and always keep it real, I have to admit that I’m not a regular shopper at the Dollar Tree. I usually hit up Walmart first if I don’t want to spend much money. I think that may change though…because I was amazed at what the Dollar Tree had. Seriously, you can get some good stuff there! These basic white plates are awesome and for a buck, how can you go wrong? This project for three plates was under $10.00. I suppose you could save a few dollars if you made your own decal or used a Sharpie…but for me this was perfect. The right price, easy as pie and something unique that I did myself.

Ann ~ What a Wonderful Wall! I just put out a couple of my blue and white Liberty Blue “Old North Church” plates and now I’m inspired to add a little JOY as well to the shelf! Where did you purchase the red letter decals? Last Christmas I purchased several clear star dishes that were perfect for my handmade candles at the Dollar Tree!

That is a great idea, Ann! I love the arrangement of the blue and white transferware with the white plates. The green of the boxwood really makes the arrangement pop too.

Love your plate wall display and the holly jolly red touches are perfect for the holidays. I’ve been looking for white plastic (melamine) plates and have been told to check back when spring / picnic items start being put on display … guess I need to stop at the Dollar Store :) Happy joyous holidays wishes for you and your family Ann.
