March feels like a fresh page. The light lingers a little longer each evening, and on March 20th we welcome the first day of spring. That alone gives us something to look forward to. No matter what is happening beyond our doors, daily life continues. Meals still need to be made. Homes still need tending. Small touches still make a difference. I hope this space feels steady and encouraging. A quiet pause in the middle of everything else. A reminder that simple things still matter.

1.) A SIMPLER WAY

This simple French market basket is one of those pieces I reach for again and again. With just a few stems of greenery or faux blossoms, it becomes an easy way to add a little life to a table or countertop. If you’ve ever wondered how to style a basket without overthinking it, I’m sharing a few easy ideas that work for any season.

2.) Words Worth Sharing

“Growing older changes you in ways you don’t expect. The need to impress fades, and all you crave is peace, a quiet life, balanced energy, and distance from anything that feels heavy.” ~Always Positive

3.) A Simple Favorite

I recently got a sweatshirt from Amazon that I absolutely love. It’s very flattering, easy to wear, and can be dressed up or down depending on the day. It washes beautifully and comes in several great colors. I chose the black and ivory stripe, but I’m pretty sure I will be getting another one. I wore it last weekend with black pants and ivory sneakers, and honestly, it’s one of those pieces I wish I could wear every day.

4.) Gather & Savor

I always think it’s nice to have a simple scone recipe on hand, especially in the spring. These cherry almond scones are tender, lightly sweet, and made with simple ingredients. They’re perfect for a quiet morning at home, or to share with someone you love. Nothing complicated, just a good, dependable recipe.

5.) THINGS WORTH MENTIONING

  • What You Might Have Missed: last weekend included a few of my favorite kinds of posts. On Saturday, I shared simple kitchen ideas you can do without a full renovation, along with a look back at our screened-in back porch at the Sutton Place house. Then on Sunday, I made a small batch of chocolate chip cookie bars that are easy, quick, and perfect when you want just a little something sweet.
  • Coming This Weekend: a collection of three refreshing smoothie recipes, the April calendars, and a look back at everything I shared in March.
  • It seems like 2026 is shaping up to be a very good year for Jane Austen fans. There’s a new Pride and Prejudice series coming to Netflix later this year, along with another currently airing on the BBC that centers on Mary Bennet, Lizzie’s often-overlooked younger sister. There’s even a new film adaptation of Sense and Sensibility scheduled for October. The Mary Bennet series may take a little while to make its way to the United States, but I have no doubt it will show up eventually. I can hardly wait. Have a lovely week. XO
