Ten ceramic garden stool styling ideas. They aren’t just for outdoors anymore! Garden stools are budget-friendly and perfect for a small space.
I know some of us are at the stage in life where we really don’t want any more stuff…but sometimes all it takes is one new addition to a room to freshen the look and perk up the decor. That’s exactly what this ivory ceramic garden stool did for our living room.
Most of us are not able to change the large design elements of our decor very often, but it’s easy to introduce something small and portable…like this cute little stool. I’ve wanted a garden stool for a long time, and now that I know how easy they are to incorporate into a room’s decor, I may just get a couple more!
A ceramic garden stool is a budget-friendly decor item and finding the perfect one is super easy. They come in a wide array of colors and designs, so you can definitely find one that reflects your personal style. They add curves and softness when placed beside a square or straight piece of furniture.
They can also be used both indoors and out. Adding a garden stool to your porch or patio is a great way to make this savvy decor accessory do double-duty.
Garden Stool Styling Ideas
You don’t need much to style a garden stool. A few simple accessories and a few minutes are all it takes to finish off the look. Here are my three favorite ways:
#1 Top with books and a seasonal item.
#2 Top with a large book and vessel of flowers.
#3 Top with a tray and accessories.
These stools can be used in just about every area of the home. Use one, or use a matching set to really make a statement. Because they are ceramic, these stools add shine, texture, and interest to any space. Even though my garden stool is neutral in color, it adds a pop of shine to that end of the room by reflecting the light.
10 Ways to Use a Ceramic Garden Stool
I don’t have my own pictures that show all the ideas listed below. I was able to find some perfect examples on Pinterest, so I’ve added links to the individual pins where appropriate. It never ceases to amaze me what can be found on Pinterest!
- Place as an end table. (See one HERE.)
- Use in a bathroom topped with a basket of towels.
- Paired under a long sofa table. (See an example HERE.)
- Paired at the end of a bed. (See an example HERE.)
- Paired in front of a sofa. (Make sure the stools have a flat top.)
- Use inside a large, walk-in shower. (This is totally unexpected, but I just love the idea. See one HERE.)
- Use on a deck or patio for a side table.
- Use as a bedside table.
- Use in a walk-in closet. (I don’t have a walk-in closet, but if I did, I think a garden stool would be the perfect place to sit and put on a pair of shoes!)
- Use anywhere as pull-up extra seating.

Hi there,
I use garden stools in my home as mini cocktail tables by adding a larger glass top. Those clear bumpers do the trick to balance any convex tops of the stools as well as keep the glass in place.
