Why You’ll Love These Homemade Popsicles

These homemade popsicles come together in minutes with a blender and a short list of simple ingredients. Orange, lemon, banana, and Greek yogurt give them a creamy texture with a bright, tangy flavor. They are easy enough to make with children, and once the molds are filled, the freezer does the rest. Keep a batch on hand for a cold summer snack or an easy dessert after dinner.

How To Make Homemade Popsicles

  • Combine all ingredients in a blender. Blend until frothy.
  • Pour into popsicle molds.
  • Freeze for 4 hours. Overnight is better.
  • Makes 7-8 popsicles depending on the size of your molds.

TIPS FOR SUCCESS

  • This recipe makes about seven popsicles, although the exact number will depend on the size of your molds.
  • I used Dannon OIKOS Orange Cream Greek yogurt. Banana cream or vanilla yogurt will work just as well.
  • The recipe can easily be doubled, and there should still be plenty of room in a standard blender.
  • I used a Norpro Ice Pop Maker, which came with enough wooden sticks for two batches. After I inserted the sticks, they slipped too far into the molds. Attaching a paper clip to each stick kept it in the correct position, as shown in the image below.
  • Made with Greek yogurt and banana, these homemade popsicles have a little protein and potassium along with their refreshing citrus flavor.

These citrus banana cream homemade popsicles are a simple way to keep something cold and refreshing in the freezer during the summer. For more easy treats, try this creamy lemon ice cream, bake a batch of lemon muffins for breakfast or brunch, or make a pitcher of mint lemonade with fresh mint from the garden. Each recipe is uncomplicated, full of fresh citrus flavor, and just right for warm days.

Those look delicious. The photograph is so pretty and is staged so nicely. Sure you weren’t a food stylist in a previous life? I’m going to have to order that popsicle mold. I used to make popsicles for my kids all the time when they were little. Now they are middle aged so these would be for me!

It gets hot here in the afternoons so this would be a great treat for my grandchildren, if i don’t eat them all. Ha! ha! Thanks Ann.

  9. These sound yummy! Never mind grandkids – I’m making them for myself. :-)

  10. Love the recipe for these frozen pops. I purchased a set of molds last year and never used them. Over the winter I collected recipes and made my first batch for our Granddaughter. She loves the strawberry fruit bars, but looking at the ingredients, I wasn’t sure if they were that healthy for her. My motto, if I cannot pronounce the ingredient, do we really want it? So I pureed up some fresh berries, added honey and apple juice, put in molds and Samantha decided Grammies were better than the store bought one. So now I have made raspberry, blueberry and now I will have these.
