An Outdoor Adventure Right At Home

An outdoor adventure is waiting for all of us…and we don’t have to travel any further than our own backyards.

Outdoor adventures come in many different shapes and sizes. Some families love camping, while others can’t wait to hit the hiking trails. There’s fishing, hunting, biking, and so many other adventures waiting out there for all of us.

If, by chance, these things aren’t for you, it’s entirely possible to experience an outdoor adventure right in your own backyard. I’ve put together some ideas for easy ways to take advantage of your outdoor space, provide a fun experience for your family and friends, and enjoy just being outside.

Summer means extra time spent with your family. Walmart can help you create moments you will remember, and these special moments can absolutely be made at home. They have low prices on everything you need to get ready for your very own outdoor adventure. Walmart offers high quality products that fit each and every lifestyle, so no matter how you define “outdoor adventure,” they have what you need.

Gather.

Our daughter and her boyfriend share an amazing outdoor space, and I’m very excited to show it to you. We recently spent an evening there, and with help from Walmart, we created our very own outdoor adventure. It consisted of great conversation in a beautiful outdoor setting, a roaring fire, refreshing drinks, and our dogs! The temps here in Ohio have been scorching, but the evening we gathered outdoors, there was a definite chill in the air. I’m not sure how we got so lucky!

Add the cozy factor with a fire.

One of the easiest and most efficient ways to add a fire pit to your outdoor space is with a Solo Stove. Solo Stoves come in several sizes that range in price from $109.00 to about $500.00. They are portable, smokeless, and built to last. Place one inside your existing fire pit, or they can be used right on a deck or patio. (If using directly on a patio or deck, make sure to use the stand.) My daughter said some of her neighbors have built fires right on their driveways! Another option for a portable fire pit is the HotShot™ smokeless fire pit.

Provide comfortable and portable seating.

One of the best things about a fire is that it’s a people magnet. Fires naturally gather people together, and once gathered, everyone needs a comfortable place to sit. Foldable and lightweight chairs are the best choice, and if those chairs happen to be rockers, you have the best of both worlds! Rockers say comfortable and cozy on their own, but put them around a fire, and that cozy factor is upped considerably.

Refreshments are a must!

No outdoor adventure would be complete without something to eat and drink! Make this part as easy or as elaborate as you like, and have fun with it. We made mint lemonade spritzers and served them in unbreakable stainless steel tumblers. Another easy idea is to simply fill a small cooler with your favorite canned or bottled drinks. The obvious choice for food when there’s a fire handy is a s’mores bar. (See the recipe below.) Other ideas are this amazing and easy cheese dip, or if you want to spend a little more time, present this gorgeous charcuterie board. Set up your food and beverages so everyone can help themselves, and then sit back and enjoy making memories.

  18. I’ve been working on hubby to let me have a fire pit for a while now. Although where we live there are weird regulations about not having a fire within 50 feet of a building which would be in the middle of the back garden, so I think that rule is getting ignored lol!

Since I live in the hot desert, I enjoy visiting my best friend in Ca. with her fire pit.
So many precious memories. Somehow all food and conversation seem better outdoors.
Why is it the strongest memories are made outside?
