Another week has melted away and that means we’re just a bit closer to spring. Longer days, warmer weather, blue skies and maybe even a flower or two popping up. Spring has definitely arrived On Sutton Place. I’ve got my table set for Easter and my bunnies front and center. I also added some monograms in the dining room.
About a year ago, last May, I hosted a giveaway from Uptown Girl Embroidery. Uptown Girl is an Etsy shop with unbelievable embroidered pillow covers. As a thank you for hosting the giveaway, Andrea (the shop owner) made me these monograms on linen I had sent her.
In the spirit of keeping it real, I have to admit that the reason it took me so long to post about these is because I completely forgot I had them. I have a bad habit of putting things “away” and the minute I do they are forgotten. A few weeks ago I was looking for a piece of toile in one of my fabric bins. I never found the toile but I ran across these linen squares and it was like I had won the lottery!
I couldn’t get these pillow covers made fast enough. I just adore them. I backed them with the same yellow ticking I used in my living room so they can move around my house and fit in anywhere. Andrea does such nice work. She has added quite a few new things since I last checked her shop. One of the nice things about Andrea is that she does custom work…so if you want some monograms of your own just drop her a note.
I resurrected my bunny nest from the bottomless pit of my storage closet. The minute I spied it sitting on a shelf I realized it was the perfect size for my little vintage table. For last year’s version I stacked two wreaths for the nest base. That was a little much for the table so I took one away.
Spring has sprung indoors On Sutton Place so hopefully it will do the same outside. When Kelly and I venture out for a walk I’ve been seeing signs of sprouting bulbs. I can’t wait for the daffodils and tulips to make their appearance…not to mention the forsythia. To me, that is the sure sign that spring is really here.
Wishing you a weekend of fun and relaxation…see you next week!
