Discover simple home decor ideas, style tips, and seasonal inspiration through The Curated Life…your guide to living beautifully every day.

Even though February is a short month, it can feel surprisingly long. My hope is that this space offers a calm midweek pause. A place to slow down, reset your thoughts, and find a bit of comfort in simple ideas and seasonal touches. If the days feel heavy or the winter stretch feels endless, I hope coming here lifts your spirits and gives you a soft place to land for a few quiet moments.

1.) Neat In No Time
The cabinet under my kitchen sink had slowly become one of those spaces I avoided. It was a mix of mismatched baskets and an awkward little shelf unit that was barely wide enough to hold anything useful. Every time I opened the doors, things felt crowded and hard to reach, and I knew it wasn’t working the way I needed it to.

I swapped everything out for two small clear stackable drawer sets and two clear lazy susans, and even with the garbage disposal and pipes to work around, I was able to make it all fit. The difference is night and day. Now everything has a place, nothing is hidden, and opening that cabinet feels calm instead of frustrating. It’s such a small change, but it genuinely makes me happy every time I open those doors.

2.) WORDS WORTH SHARING
“Declutter your mind, your heart, your home. Let go of the heaviness that is weighing you down. Make your life simple, but significant.” Found HERE.

3.) One Look, Two Choices
This forsythia wreath has been on my site for many years, and it’s still one of my favorite ways to welcome spring. It’s simple to make, uses just a few supplies, and brings in that first bright pop of yellow when winter starts to fade. If you enjoy a small DIY project, you can easily make this wreath yourself. If you’d rather skip the making and still enjoy the same look, here is a similar ready-made forsythia wreath that gives the same feel with no extra effort.

4.) Gather + Savor
Spaghetti shows up in my kitchen in more ways than one, and these three recipes have been favorites for years. There’s baked spaghetti for nights when something hearty sounds good, spaghetti soup when a bowl of comfort is all that’s needed, and a simple homemade spaghetti sauce that works for both busy weekdays and slow Sundays. Each one uses basic ingredients, feels familiar, and offers a slightly different way to bring an easy, comforting meal to the table.
5.) THINGS WORTH MENTIONING
- What you might have missed: over the weekend, I shared some thoughts about how home can feel steady and welcoming when the focus stays on what matters most, followed by a simple recipe for cherry muffins that is so easy to make, and perfect for everyday baking.
- Coming This Weekend: a well kept home doesn’t have to be perfect. It just needs to support the way you live each day. This weekend, I’m sharing a few small, practical ideas that will help your home feel settled and easy.
- What I’m Watching: Miracle: The Boys of ’80 on Netflix. It looks back at the U.S. men’s hockey team and their unforgettable win over the Soviet Union at the 1980 Olympics in Lake Placid, including that famous “Do you believe in miracles?” moment. What stood out most to me were the interviews with the players who are still living. They were thoughtful, humble, and clearly grateful for the experience, even all these years later. It’s a very well-done documentary and one I truly enjoyed.
- That’s it for this week. I really appreciate your continued presence. More than I can say. XO

Love the spring wreath. I have been craving a pop of sunny yellow & recently bought a bright yellow blanket. It’s so cheerful & makes me smile.
I rarely write on forums, however, I have been receiving inspiration and affirmation from Anne since the beginning. This site has it all, lovely home ideas and heart. With Valentine’s Day approaching, know that I love the weekly newsletter in my inbox.
Thank you!
Patricia
What hand held mixer do you use and like?
At first, I thought your “before” picture of under the sink was the “after”… I wish mine looked as good either way! Definitely on my to-do list, thank you.
Hi Ann….I would add one item to your under sink organization. I ordered a silicon mat from Amazon to line the bottom of the cabinet, in case of any water issues under the sink and to keep the cabinet floor clean.
Thanks, Jan
Weathertech also makes a product to protect the bottom of the cabinet surface under the kitchen sink. Fits perfectly (measure to order) and is very sturdy and has a raised lip, kind of like a tray. We have this and it’s very protective. Bonus—it’s made in the USA!
