Sometimes, buying things for ourselves is hard. Over the years, it’s gotten easier, but I still put off buying myself things because I think they aren’t necessary. One of my favorite ways to get things I want for our home is to put them on my Christmas list. Today, together with Walmart Home, I’m sharing some of my favorite gift ideas that are perfect for friends and family. There is a wide array of prices, so no matter what your budget, you can find a stylish home gift in your price range.

Kitchen Appliances

Getting new items for our kitchens makes spending time there so much more enjoyable. We all need a lift now and then, so make sure to add a kitchen item or two to your Christmas list. Personally, I can’t survive without a Keurig, and this one in matte navy is my current favorite. It also comes in black and matte white. This one would also be a good choice because it includes both the single serve option as well as a carafe.

cuisinart ice cream maker with lemons

I can also personally recommend the Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker. I discovered how easy it is to make your own ice cream last summer. We made lemon ice cream, which was amazing, and then we tried pineapple Dole Whip. The Dole Whip is just like what’s served at Disney World, and it’s delicious! An ice cream maker is the perfect family gift, because kids can help, and they love being included. My granddaughter helped me make the Dole Whip, and the time we spent in the kitchen together was wonderful.

Cookware

When it comes to cookware, there are a lot of choices! It’s something we use on a regular basis, so it should be beautiful as well as functional. I have two favorites that I’d like to share. The first is stainless steel pieces by Cuisinart. It’s available in sets, or the sauce pans and skillets can be purchased individually. The 11-piece set is currently sold out, but it’s available in a 7-piece, 10-piece, or 14-piece set. Any home chef would love this! It cooks evenly, and cleans up in no time. My other favorite is Tramontina cast iron. It’s reasonably priced and very well made. If you’ve been cooking with pots and pans that have been around for a while, put this on your Christmas list!

Functional Accessories

Another great gift idea, for yourself or someone you love, is a functional and beautiful decor accessory. Some examples are:

  • neutral pitchers
  • serving trays
  • small accent lamps
  • pillow covers
  • baskets
  • lanterns with candles
  • throw blankets

Layering any surface will add texture and interest, and the best tool for that is a large tray that makes a statement. The acacia wood tray featured today is perfect for any style decor, and any color scheme. If you have hard-to-buy-for people on your list, you can’t go wrong with something that will make their homes cozy and stylish.

That navy Keurig is just perfect!! So many of these selections are really great! I’m thinking of getting the Cuisinart set… :-)

I have the ice cream maker and rarely use it. After reading your recipe for the lemon ice cream I will get it out and use it this weekend. Sounds delicious. Good luck with your move. I have given thought to moving myself but would dread the packing but that would be a good way to get rid of things. Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas.

  3. When I got an induction cooktop I had to buy new cookware to work with it. At age 64 I treated myself to a set of All Clad which look similar to the Cuisinart. I love to cook and I wish I had bought them years ago. I love them. Yes I waited like you said to treat myself. The lady at Williams Sonoma said this is the type of cookware to pass on to your children etc. I also have the Cuisinart ice cream maker but rarely use it. I need to try the Pineapple Whip. I have an original Cuisinart food processor which was made in Japan and is so heavy. Bought it in 1981!! It’s 30 years old and still going strong. Cuisinart is a great company.

  4. I can’t wait to see that navy Keurig in your new kitchen! Prayers for a smooth move.

Prayers for a smooth move. I found it interesting reading your home sale story. After 52 years in Charleston SC and 47 years in our home we moved to Pawleys Island SC just 2 years ago. Home sold within 10 days after a bidding war, and the purchaser allowed us to remain in our home about 6 weeks rent free after closing. No doubt, God is in control🙏🙏🙏

  6. If you’ve bought and used it, I know it will be great. We do have the Keurig with carafe and single; we both really like it.

Merry Christmas, Ann; and hope the big move goes well.
