Fall is my favorite season to make things by hand, and over the years I have gathered a small collection of fall crafts for adults that are simple to make and nice to keep on display. None of these ask for special skill or a long list of supplies, and most come together in an afternoon with things you likely have on hand. You will find pumpkins, wreaths, and a few projects made from gourds and dried flowers, along with a handful of print-and-make crafts at the end. Some are seasonal and some carry through fall and into the holidays, and all of them are the kind of quiet project that feels good to make. Pumpkin Crafts
The Mod Podge Painted Pumpkins start with plain white pumpkins and a little craft paint, then get their pattern from paper napkins layered on with Mod Podge. They are a no carve project, so they last all season and can come out again next year.
For something softer, the Lace Pumpkin with Mod Podge uses a lace doily smoothed over a small pumpkin and sealed in place. The open lace gives it a gentle, dressed-up look that suits a mantel or a shelf.
The Mini Pumpkin Flower Arrangements turn small pumpkins into little vases filled with mums, greenery, and berries. Group a few together for a centerpiece, or set one at each seat for a fall gathering.
Fall Wreaths and Natural Crafts
Next is the Neutral Fall Wreath, my wreath making 101 project, built on a grapevine base with ivory leaves, white pumpkins, and cotton stems. The soft, muted colors let it work on almost any front door, well into the season.
Dried blooms are all it takes for the Dried Hydrangea Wreath, tucked into a straw form until the shape is full and rounded. The faded green and pink tones feel natural rather than bright, and the wreath holds up far longer than fresh flowers.
The Dried Gourds take a light stain and get grouped in a dough bowl with greenery and white pumpkins. Their warm, neutral tones make them a calm way to decorate a mantel or table through fall.
The Fall Woodland Frame is made by edging a plain frame with moss and gluing on acorns, pinecones, and small sticks. It is a good way to use the bits you gather on a fall walk, and it brings a piece of the outdoors indoors.
Printable Fall Crafts to Cut and Assemble
The Thanksgiving Napkin Rings are a print, cut, and assemble project, finished with ribbon and a sprig of fresh greenery. Wrap one around each rolled napkin, and your Thanksgiving table is set without much fuss.
The Happy Halloween Banner prints on cardstock, then you cut the letters and string them on twine or hemp cord. The vintage lettering keeps it classic rather than spooky, and it hangs nicely on a mantel or a wall.
Last are the Halloween Treat Bags, made with printable kraft toppers folded over small bags and tied with twine. Fill them with candy or homemade cookies for a party favor that is quick to put together.
