After sharing the recent changes coming to the blog, I was very touched by the kind emails and heartfelt comments that came my way, and I read every single one! Many of you also had good questions, and I wanted to take a moment to answer them here so everyone is in the loop. If youโ€™ve been wondering whatโ€™s next, I hope this post helps clarify things.

I will miss The Wish List. Is it continuing elsewhere?

Well…it’s continuing in a different format right here! I’m working on my own series that’s similar to The Wish List. Here’s the scoop:

Itโ€™s called The Curated Life, and itโ€™s a generous dose of style, home, and inspiration. While itโ€™s a series, it wonโ€™t follow a strict weekly schedule. My goal is to share it every other Wednesday. (Perhaps a lofty goal, but I’m going to try.) Each edition will be a thoughtful mix of ideas, finds, and personal favorites. Itโ€™s meant to be a simple, uplifting pause in the middle of your weekโ€ฆsomething to enjoy with your morning coffee or during a quiet afternoon break.

This series is a place for all the ideas that donโ€™t quite fit into a full blog post, but that I feel are still worth sharing. Youโ€™ll see everything from lovely home tours and fashion picks to seasonal decorating ideas, recipes, and little ways to enjoy everyday life. I want to offer inspiration that helps you create a home and life you truly love, one moment at a time.

You can also still follow along with Yvonne and Suzy. They are continuing The Wish List on their sites every Wednesday.

What about Home Style Saturdays? Is that continuing?

Although Iโ€™ve stepped away from Home Style Saturdays, the series will still be going strong over on Southern Hospitality, StoneGable, and Worthing Court. Iโ€™ve loved being part of this weekly tradition, and I know many of you have enjoyed it too. The good news is that the series isnโ€™t going anywhere. My friends will be continuing it, and theyโ€™re planning to welcome a couple of new blogs to the mix very soon.

Can we still get all the printables?

Yes! The truth is, creating printables is one of the best things about this job. It feeds the creative part of my brain, and itโ€™s also a way for me to give something back to all of you. I truly appreciate your support…whether you open an email, leave a kind comment, or click on an affiliate link. Offering all my printables for free is my way of saying thank you, and thatโ€™s not changing anytime soon. I will be offering new autumn wall art, and the digital calendars I send at the end of each month will continue. I’ve started working on the 2026 monthly calendar, and it will be available sometime in September, so stay tuned!

What is Fresh Baked?? Youโ€™re ending it and I donโ€™t know that Iโ€™ve ever seen it!

This made me laugh! Fresh Baked was a weekly series I launched in April 2024, where I featured one easy recipe each week…something you could bake fresh in your own oven. When it began, I promoted it everywhere, so if you missed it, I truly donโ€™t know how! The sign-up link was in every email and at the end of nearly every blog post for weeks. While the series has now ended, all of the recipes are still available on the blog. Just head to the recipe index to find them all!

What’s Ahead?

The honest truth is that Iโ€™m not entirely sure yet. What I do know is that I want to share ideas for simplifying life and offer content thatโ€™s truly helpful to you. In my original post announcing these changes, I asked for your suggestions, and you responded with thoughtful, encouraging ideas. You want to know more about my daily routines, the healthy habits that help me stay active, easy recipes, dinners for two, gardening tips, and more frequent updates on my little dog. Iโ€™m listening, and Iโ€™ll do my best to give you more of what you want, in a way that feels meaningful and manageable for both of us.

final Thoughts

I confess that I read some of the comments on my original post through tears. So many of you graciously thanked me for my honesty, and you shared your own stories of loss with such vulnerability and kindness. Speaking of honesty, it never occurred to me to be anything other than myself. Two things I can always sincerely promise: Iโ€™ll continue to be real with you, and put my whole heart into all that I do. I wouldn’t know how to do it any other way. Meet me back here on Sunday, when I’ll be sharing the new wall treatment in our dining nook. I look forward to seeing you then!

  1. Hi Ann – We were away and I did not see your original post. But, good for you – stepping back and simplifying is a great idea. Especially when you are grieving…there is not timeline for grief. Your blog was one of the first I ever read and it encouraged me to start mine – Our New Vista – when we downsized. I have enjoyed your posts, your recipes, and LOVE the printable stuff. Whenever I give gifts to neighbors or take home gifts for guests I use your tags and everyone is impressed. I have been blogging for 8 years and I feel the need to post less often, spend more time reading, and just being relaxed. Looking forward to whatever and whenever you post – all the best!

  2. Looking forward to all of your future post. I really like and enjoy your blog!

  3. Bravo to you for embracing change!
You havenโ€™t said much about your family recently. I do hope all is well with them.
As long as you post , you have a fan in me!

  4. Ann, I am happy to hear you will continue with a similar Wednesday post and I am excited to read the new version! The Wednesday Weekly Wish List was my favorite, but I enjoyed all you shared. I feel you are a friend I’ve known for many years and you deserve to slow down and to live simply!
I too appreciate your honesty, great decorating hints, tips and down to earth recipes. Now that I’m in my 70’s I certainly feel the need to live simply and let go of some of the yard upkeep. I’m also cutting back on the flower and vegetable garden. This will give me and my husband, who is also slowing down on our ranch, more time to enjoy the grand kids!
Thank you and enjoy your summer!

  5. Thank you for sharing all of this information with us, Ann. I have been following you for years and would sincerely miss your wonderful posts. Thank you for continuing to be with us in an updated schedule and form. Best Wishes!

Thanks, Ann, for sharing more info with us. You do such a wonderful job with all your posts and I always look forward to reading each one.

I’m so happy for you that you are able to do your wonderful posts on your own time. This will be so nice for you,

You are such a special person! You are truly a bright spot in our day. Thanks for being wonderful you! We wish you all the best in the future!

    1. I’ve been following you for years and I appreciate that your ideas are doable and don’t break the bank. I’ve made many of your recipes and they have become staples in our home. Thank you for all the decorating ideas, printables and recipes. I’m so glad you aren’t going away completely. Enjoy your slower pace. You deserve it.

  8. Ann, I have enjoyed knowing you through your blog almost since Day One. Your simple, meaningful words and projects have always been a bright spot online for me, thus the only blog I follow. Thank you for all your uplifting words, deliciously easy recipes, printable and nice projectsโ€ฆ.I have made many!
Enjoy this time to relax and recharge. I look forward to what you have in store for us. You are like the friend everyone wishes lived next door.
    All the best,

  9. Ann you are wonderful. You are one of the touch points in my life that is real and honest. I love how you find easier ways to do life, decorating, cooking, gardening, and so many other things. A million thanks.
One thing I am having trouble with now is finding a way to arrange flowers from my yard attractively in vases to put around the house. The daisies droop, the bee balm loses its petals, the blue whatevers- I thought they would act like “supports” for the other flowers- become knotted up in the vase. Perhaps you could re post some of your tips and tricks. Floral tape? Wire? Frog?
What vase shapes are best? Can I buy them on your amazon site? Do you change water every day? Do you use the powder that comes with florist arrangements in your backyard arrangements? What are your favorite flower combos to grow in the garden?
I notice you use hosts in your arrangements, it looks great- and is something I never would have thought of.
Again, thank you for bring you and being real.

Thank you for sharing your heart. I donโ€™t usually comment on blogs I read, but this morning that did not feel like an option. I have so enjoyed your blog for several years now. The ideas, your creativity & the beauty. That beauty nourishes & refreshes my soul. Iโ€™m sorry that you lost your dad. Even when youโ€™re certain itโ€™s time, that still doesnโ€™t keep it from hurting. My husband just retired after 50+ years of coaching. We, too, are looking to find our new normal, with a slower & simpler pace. And to discover what God has for us in this new season. So I sure understand the need & desire to have fewer deadlines & obligations. Anyway, thank you. And I look forward to continuing to follow you.

  13. I will look forward to your posts and I know you’ll always be kind, thoughtful and creative.
    Karen B.

  14. Just continue to be youโ€ฆand I love a simple lifeโ€ฆlooking forward to whatโ€™s ahead for us.

  15. I appreciate your emails. I don’t always open them but when I do I’m always refreshed at the attainable inspiration they provide. Your home is lovely and I’ve used your free printables multiple times in my home over the years. Looking at your blog is like taking a little visit to someone’s home where it’s tidy and welcoming but not stuffy (with kids at home, “visiting” homes likes yours is always a breath of fresh air) . You leave the home inspired but not overwhelmed that you couldn’t recreate it in your own home. Thanks for all the free content you’ve provided and I wish you well in your new schedule. Thanks!

  16. Barb Karas says:

Thank you Ann. Taking a step back is a good lesson for many of us to learn. Itโ€™s not failure or quitting, it is taking care of yourself and isnโ€™t that exactly what youโ€™re teaching? In all reality less is valued more! Deep breath, go sit by you flowers, we will be happily waiting to hear from you!๐Ÿ’•

  17. I keep telling myself to simplify for some time now. I’ve gotten so many tips and ideas from you in the past and look forward to your new chapter in blog-land.

  18. Nancy Kelley says:

Thanks for the update, Ann! I am so glad you are continuing to share inspiration on a new version of Weekly Wednesday. Your insights were my favorite and I look forward to reading more! I have tried several of your delicious recipes and hope to see more. Take care and have a happy 4th of July!

  20. Brenda Hanson says:

I’m so glad you are continuing with new great simple ideas. I look forward to seeing what you create next.

  21. Ann, I’m happy for you and I will continue to follow ( you are the only blog that has a permanent place on my email save folder). Honestly, I quit reading Home Style Saturdays – they were all just repeats of OLD blog posts.
I wish you nothing but success as you step back a little. I’ll be here whenever you post.

  22. Thank you for al your lovely posts Ann!! I love your recipes and look forward to many more in the future blogs. Reading your blogs I realized we have so much in common. Last year we sold our big house and moved to an apartment and I lost both my parents the last few years. I love learning about how others cope with life’s ups and downs. So very happy you will be continuing your inspirational messages to all your faithful readers.

  23. I hope you will be continuing the what youโ€™re reading and what youโ€™re watching categories. Iโ€™ve enjoyed those in the past.

  24. This all sounds wonderful. I am also simplifying my life by refreshing my home and garden. It has become my full time hobby. I love the expression “the curated life”.

  25. Did you draw the wonderful picture of you and your sweet dog? It’s excellent! Looking forward to your “finds” as you continue your blog. Thank you.

  26. Actually I am just going to say โ€œDittoโ€ to Sueโ€™s comment. I feel the same way. Love your posts.

  27. Sue Daugherty says:
