Up today are some ideas for easy Halloween decor that you can add to the fall decor you already have, without changing the existing decor one bit. I get just as much enjoyment out of things I do at the last minute as I do out of things that take a bunch of planning…sometimes even more. These DIY Halloween decorations are quick and easy on the budget.

Easy DIY Halloween Decorations

First up is the porch, and all I did was add a few black crows to the existing planters and watering can. (If you want to see the whole porch just click HERE.)

I’m not sure why I think these crows, or ravens, are so cute, but I think they’re adorable. To me, they say Halloween just as much as a jack o’lantern or a witch. I wanted to use them last year, but I couldn’t find any locally…so this year I ordered them online.

Their claws have wires attached, so they were very easy to twist onto the wreaths on the olive buckets and the handle of the watering can.

I had a raven left over so I brought him inside and perched him on a pitcher of greenery. I added a Halloween printable to my woodland frame and in about five minutes my shelves turned from fall to Halloween.

One of my favorite (and one of the easiest) ways to add seasonal decor is to change out my pillow covers. Adding something in orange might seem unexpected, but I think it works on the neutral background. To see the black and white buffalo check pillow cover pictured above, click {HERE.}

So…to sum things up.

Ideas for easy Halloween decor:

  • Add some crows.
  • Add a fun and festive pillow cover (or two.)
  • Use pops of orange…any sort of pumpkin is perfect.

Hi Ann ~ I love the black crows! They have a touch of whimsy and humor about them. I always love to see how you decorate for the different seasons and various holidays because I think you do it simply but with high visual impact. Then you share all your ideas with us! Thanks so much! Caw, caw! LOL.

  4. easy and not overly “cute”, which I like….

  5. Ann, I love your crows (or Ravens). My son, on the other hand, would not. LOL I laugh because he is 21 and should not be worried about a bird.. But that is another story

Ohhhh, I think Ravens are part of the scaryness of Halloween. I can see them flying in front of last night’s Hunters moon, spooky!

Enjoyed all of your creative ideas. I also find pleasure in decorating at the last minute, or at least adding to my holiday decor at the last minute. I’m single so can suit myself and don’t have to plan around a great deal of cooking or entertaining. Appreciate the links to the products you used as well.

  10. This is a great post – I love the use of the ravens and TY for the downloadable prints! Where did you find the olive buckets? They are great! Love your blog!

  13. Dear Ann,
I am older and no kids on my street so why am I decorating? Ha ha. Teve said it best – Tradition. Not much outside and a little in. My mom, as she got older did the same. Some of what I have was hers. I couldn’t throw it away. I miss mom all the time but as much as I love the coming holidays I am missing her more than ever. I love the ravens. God Bless.

I love all of your decorating ideas! I have borrowed so many of them. But I just have to say no to the jack o lantern pillow. I find it a little jarring in your beautiful room. Maybe I just need to the the whole room.

    1. Michelle Jones says:

I find the jack-o-lantern pillow stunning in that room!
