Easy Halloween decor ideas that are quick, budget-friendly, and simple to add to your existing fall style.

When October arrives, it seems like everyone has a different opinion about Halloween. Some people love it, while others would rather move right on to Thanksgiving. If you prefer something in between, there are easy ways to add a little Halloween without going overboard. The ideas that follow are quick, budget-friendly, and most can be pulled together at the very last minute.

Use Faux or Fresh Pumpkins
Pumpkins are an easy way to add a seasonal touch for Halloween. They donโt have to be bright orange to make an impact. Today you can find pumpkins in shades of white, green, and even muted blue, which makes it simple to blend them into your everyday decor.

Tuck a few on a shelf, line them up on your porch steps, or make a quick centerpiece for your table. Faux pumpkins can be stored and used again, while fresh pumpkins bring in natural texture that feels warm and authentic. If you are using real pumpkins, make sure to preserve them properly so they last longer!
Halloween on the Porch
First up is the porch. When October arrives, Iโm always ready to add pumpkins, but I like to make sure whatever I use will last through Thanksgiving. A few years ago, I spotted a beautiful neutral wreath from Pottery Barn that was far too expensive. Instead of splurging, I made my own version. It was a simple project, and I enjoyed every step of the process.

In addition to the wreath, I removed the faded flowers, and placed beautiful faux pumpkins in the planters. I left the existing ivy, and wrapped it around the base of the pumpkins to hold them in place.

Festive Pillow Covers
Swapping out a pillow cover is one of the quickest ways to add a seasonal touch. A simple lumbar pillow with a Halloween or autumn theme instantly changes the look of a neutral chair or sofa. Itโs subtle, inexpensive, and takes just a few seconds. Keep a few covers on hand and rotate them throughout the season for an easy way to refresh your space without storing bulky pillows. String Up a Banner
I love seasonal decor that can go up quickly and come down with no fuss. Thatโs what this Happy Halloween banner is: easy, effortless, and free for email subscribers. To give it a vintage feel, I designed it with an antique script background and an Old English font. The letters print two to a page, so thereโs no paper waste. To get this banner, fill out the form at the end of the post. Itโs included in the Halloween printables collection.

Berries + Stems
Add pops of autumn color with berries and stems in rich tones like deep orange, warm red, dark blue, and golden yellow. These simple accents bring a subtle hint of Halloween cheer without overwhelming your space. Place the stems in pitchers, pile them on a mantel or shelf, or make an arrangement in your favorite dough bowl.
