Easy Front Porch Decor for Fall

Easy Front Porch Decor for Fall…that’s what this post is all about…with the emphasis on “easy.” Although my front porch is small and very plain, I am lucky to have an area big enough to place a pair of chairs. The porch sitting area is one of my favorite spots ever. I prefer to think of it as cozy instead of small! I love changing the simple decor with each season and so I don’t have to reinvent the wheel each time, I usually switch out the same things. In the sitting area those things are the soft furnishings and accessories. (More on the front door area in a week or so.)

Pumpkins and cozy throws add a warm and inviting touch. The only accessory that stayed on the table from my Spring/Summer porch is the blue lantern. I have always loved blue and orange together plus the blue lantern ties in to my blue front door. I filled the lantern with mini pumpkins and then added a fern in a crumbly, vintage pot.

Pumpkins and cozy throws add a warm and inviting touch. For fall and winter I like to add a throw to the chairs along with a pillow. They definitely add to the cozy factor, not to mention the burst of seasonal color. I used a pillow cover featuring one of my new fall designs.

Pumpkins and cozy throws add a warm and inviting touch.I wasn’t ready to put away my dad’s watering can so I splurged and filled it with sunflowers. I think they add the perfect finishing touch. I would love to have fresh bittersweet overflowing from the watering can but need to wait just a while longer until it’s available. There are still no listings on eBay but they should start popping up soon.

A few of you have asked about my living room sofa and if I ever bought a new one. Well…I did and I’ll be sharing that when I add some fall touches to the room. I should have shown you over the summer but was stuck on fabrics for pillows. I finally found some fabric but the pillows will have to wait until after the holidays now. That will give me something to do in January!

Very pretty Ann! I’m always looking for something easy to do that I don’t have to sew or put together. Your porch looks like about the size of mine, and you have styled it attractively with Fall touches. Love! Pinned.

  3. Looks so lovely! I can’t wait to transform my porches for fall. One question – is your porch always this clean?! And if so, how do you keep it that way? I am always battling the bugs, spiderwebs, and dust on my decor!

I grew up in Pennsylvania and loved picking bittersweet with my grandmother,
    such fond memories.

  10. Ann I have always loved your front porch rockers and decorations, and I bought a wicker chair, and set to work fixing
my own little porch too, but the neighbors cats have ruined every cushion, every throw, and I have totally given up.

How do you keep your porch so nice?

  11. Jane Windham says:

What a beautiful combination of colors, and your pillows are gorgeous! Pinning!

  12. Your porch always looks lovely…no matter the season. Do you leave the accessories out all season long…everyday? ;)

  15. I love your simple designs and inexpensive ways of changing your décor. The watering can with the sunflowers brought me joy.

  16. Ann, your porch looks so inviting. I am not an orange lover as you well know, however YOU made it look perfect on your porch! You have a very special touch!

  20. Hello! I always look so forward to reading your posts and admiring your beautiful home. It is so welcoming and I just love your styling – elegantly decorated yet has a comfortable home feel.
I have always admired your pumpkin with the star cutouts and now I see that you are offering it on a pillow! I will be ordering one for my home fall decorating! Can you tell me please where you got the pumpkin? I know it is not new as I have admired it for several years. I know it probably is not still available, but I love it so much. I’m curious – what is it made of.
Thank you! Enjoy your beautiful home! Barbara

  21. I’m going with easy this year too. I’m determined to NOT purchase anything new and just go with what I have. I will grab a few mums and fresh pumpkins but that’s all. Love the fall colors you’re using this year :)

  22. Kathleen G says:

Good morning Ann, I love your Autumn front porch and I certainly agree, use what you have and add a few new things, especially if your decor is faded and such. What I don’t have though is a lantern and a velvet pumpkin. This Fall with sales and coupons, I’ll be looking for them.
Have a Blessed Sunday, Kathleen in Az

  23. I love it! Your porch is warm and inviting! But to me, something that makes it even more appealing, is the fact that you didn’t change everything (you kept the blue lantern) and you used items of authenticity (your dad’s watering can). I do not like the idea that seems to be becoming prevalent, of needing to buy all new stuff in order to change one’s look from season-to-season and year-to-year. I invest in things that I truly love, (not fads) and I rotate accessories so that I don’t get bored. I love seashells, (they’re part of my look) and I’m considering ways to work them into Fall decor, so that I don’t have to put them all away until next Summer, when it’s acceptable (and expected) to have them on display.

  24. Beautiful. So in love with the orange and blue. One question as pics did not show your doormat. What color is it? Thanks for sharing your porch.

  25. Betty Hill says:

I always love your front porch. Thanks for bringing joy to my day.

  26. Nadia @ Adventures in Wonderlab says:

My daughter and I just thoroughly cleaned our front porch yesterday (she was very helpful for about 10 minutes, and then decided playing in the mud was much more fun – I don’t blame her!). Perfect timing with your post and needing some fall inspiration for my newly cleaned porch!
